View Full Version : shampoo/Conditioner Recs.......

I think I need new shampoo/conditioner.

I used to be able to use my current stuff and get away with it for three days before I had to wash again.....I could spritz it and then blow it out and style it without having to wash and it looked great........

Now I'm noticing by the end of the night my hair is looking oily or greasy.......not terrible, but enough that if I wanted to go out at night I'd have to redo it......and I don't like it.

I am SUPER low maintenance so doing hair twice in a day is silly to me.

Any rec's for shampoo/conditioner?

I am currently using herbal essences, and think it might be a build up of the shampoo/conditioner and am definitely willing to move back to salon quality stuff again.....

thanks!

I use Suave too and have been for years! I like trying other products. Like at Regis they were having an AWESOME clearance sale when I got my haircut 2 days ago. Lots of items were 60% off and such.

I actually use Suave Humectant conditioner as a leave-in. :D That's my tip!!!

I love Suave, I used to use Pantene religiously but I find that if I dont switch my shampoos after awhile, my hair will get oily.

I use the suave clarifying too.

my absolute fave used to be redken all soft.....I used it alot when I colored my hair because it kept it nice and soft, but I no longer NEED that.

We had dove....wasn't a fan.

Rave.......wasn't that the stuff that was like liquid glue? Was it in a blue bottle.....I think I used that hairspray for awhile. I don't hardly use hairspray anymore....I don't need it.

I just flatiron and go and it's good........

I dunno what liquid glue is. :(

All I bought in the Rave brand was hairspray.

Try other lines of Suave! :)

I'm using Vivid Color by Graham Webb since I had my hair colored not long ago. I didn't realize how much I really liked it until I used my dh's shower and forgot to bring my shampoo with me. I used his Pert plus and my hair was so out of control I couldn't even get it back into a ponytail :screwy

Try using a clarifying shampoo once a week, that will help remove build up which may be causing the greasiness. If that doesn't work try switching to a shampoo for normal hair and light weight conditioner. If that doesn't take care of it, you may need to switch to a shampoo for oily hair. As you get older you will notice your tastes, skin, as well as hair will change. In the last couple of years, I had to switch from moisturizing products to a normal/daily se product as well as light conditioners and only use it on my ends. As for specific brand, I stay pretty loyal to Matrix products, particularly the Biolage line. :) I love their light weight conditioner and the leave-in sealant, it helps tame my humidity curly hair frizz! :D

I love pureology shampoo and conditioner. The ones in the purple bottle. The conditioner is awesome...it has mint in it so it feels all tingly on your scalp!!

I have the opposite problem, very dry hair...so my shampoo would not be good for you:giggle

Good luck on your search, though! :goodvibes

I have one on the 21st! haha

I think it "might" have something to do with aging? blech........I hate the sound of that, but about 6 years ago my hair got really really dry and I had to switch to very moisturizing products..........lately it's NEVER dry but oilier.

I was reading on MUA that sometimes over clarifying can cause oily scalp? No idea, but I do clarify my hair so that's not a problem. It's definitely not product build up! However I have been using cheaper shampoo and for me that can become a problem over time.....soooo I'm going to try out something geared for oiler scalps/hair and see what happens before I spend alot of money.
