Um it's showing up for me. :shrug Also we aren't supposed to have countdown tickers only countup. :)
Are you sure when you paste it in your sig that you are pressing save after ;)

you copy and paste the entire thing they give you into your siggy.
as you can see, it is showing up NOW just in your regular post.
go to your user cp and edit siggy. paste the entire thing there and you'll be good to go.

Why have a ticker at all? I would think the bigger picture of OPSEC would be much more important than prettying up your siggy.

I have used a countup ticker before so I know how long my DH was gone for. :shrug I don't see the big deal with it as long as it's not counting down so no one knows when they are coming back. I also always waited a week or two before I put it up so no one would see it on day 1 and know when he left just incase.

I use both a countdown and a countup timer on my own desktop, as well as a donut tracker to know how long he's been gone and how long until he returns.
But I still stand by my statement of, what is the point of publicly announcing it?
Even if you wait a week or two, if it says he's been gone a week, then wouldn't someone know when he left and be able to then do basic math to figure out fifteen months from then?
Eh - just doesn't seem worth it to me.

Well it's ok you don't have to agree with me. :) Plus 15 months doesn't mean it's exactly 15 months. :shrug Yeah you don't NEED to have it but some people like to. I put one up sometimes and other times I just use my donut. If she wants to have a countup ticker just let her go who cares it's really up to her as long as it isn't counting down. Plus if someone really really wanted to figure it out they would. :shrug Sure you can make it harder I realize that but again it's not you doing it it's other so if it makes them feel good to see how far they have come while on this site then I say let them.
