If you don't have dental coverage, you'll be paying MORE out-of-pocket costs! flangl18 07-28-2008, 10:12 AM It is worth having, but if you have the opportunity to supplement it and know you have dental work that needs to be done (extensive) then it is worth getting a supplemental. Ma*Becca 07-28-2008, 10:22 AM We have it and Im not complaining, its better than no coverage at all...they give each person up to $1200 a year in coverage so it just depends on how much work you need done... MelissaMc424 07-28-2008, 11:28 AM It's worth having.. especially if you're in an area where you can find someone who only charges you the portion that Tricare won't cover and doesn't price gouge. I was quoted $1,000 to get my teeth back up to par in TX, but waited until we got to SD, and got it all done for less than $200 because our dentist here works with military. BLBnJVB3 07-28-2008, 11:39 AM We haven't had any issues. The only thing we have paid out of pocket for were 2 cavaties to be filled for our DD. Together it was less than $100 and it was at separate times. We also had them fill them with the white filling. If they filled them with the silver one it would have been less. navywifeplus3 07-28-2008, 11:48 AM The fact that we have no out of pocket for cleanings and check-ups makes it worth it! My older two have also had their teeth sealed and each kid cost me $20, but I seen the itemized bill that they send showing what they cover and with out coverage, those sealants would have been over $100 per kid! :wowsers |
