Well I had always heard to not 'die' your hair b/c the chemicals can get in your blood stream when your pregnant. Aveda is a good product (all natural) and doesn't damage your hair. I'd recommend Aveda for color. (If your coloring in any aspect) b/c it's natural and safe while your pregnant. As for a cut. I'd say couple inches off, layer it, do you like bangs? if yes, include those :yes

nope, it's not true very little of the chemicals penetrate your scalp. there aren't very many scientific studies on it but you should just consult a physician.
however for those that are still a bit wary, hold off until the second trimester, i've had plenty of friends coloring their hair during pregnancies and their babies came out fine, their doctors said it was fine. what's not safe is to color your hair in a poorly ventilated area while you inhale the fumes. there's more danger in the fumes than coloring your hair. :)

yea see I just heard that word of mouth regarding chemical dye for hair. ask your dr. when in doubt OP. I'm pregnant and have used Aveda and it's all natural so I know that for sure is totally safe. but she's saying you can. I say ask the hair salon. I mean they will tell you if they dye other pregnant people's hair with say Redken or something and yea when in doubt ask your dr.

yup that's what i heard too until a bunch of my friends started coloring their hair while they were pregnant :)
i was sitting there thinking.. wait you're allowed to do that? and they said their doctors said it was okay but i know a lot of women wait until their second trimester to try something out because they're still a bit wary.
but ITA ask your doctor, that's really the best bet.
