So we are PCSing to OK in 2 months. I just found out yesterday. And about 5 minutes ago realized there is no US Bank in Oklahoma City. *according to google :hail* So since USAA has such a great reputation, I figured we'd probably go with that. Although i'm a little nervous about not having a physical bank to go to. But....that's another story.
So when should I switch? Sooner the better just to get it out of the way? It is only 2 months. I'd hate to leave it at the last minute. But I don't want to jump the gun and make more work for myself. Kwim?

We've had USAA for 5 years and we love it... my sis and BIL have had it for more than 10 years. My only regret is that we didn't switch sooner! We have pretty much everything through them.

Switch now, it will allow you breathing room incase things mess up or take a bit longer to go through. You can always have a local savings account for cashing checks or what not and transfer funds online when you connect the accounts. I do that all the time

I'd switch now.. that way anything that is left to change over regarding automatic payments, loan payments, checks, etc can be taken care of while you have your same physical address... then once you are there you can change the address and get what you need. :)
We LOVE USAA! I've never had any problems with them and I deposit my checks at home with my scanner... they post immediately and I've never had a problem with it! :)

You have to have a credit card with USAA, which is no big deal.. they offer a cash back/rewards American Express and I love it because the interest rate is GREAT plus incentive when your SO is deployed. Then you just input the information from the check and scan front and back (back endorsed of course with account number) and you submit... money is there in an instant! :) It's VERY nice! :)

We've been with USAA for many years. I tried to do that about a year or so ago after Judy told me about it. I was told you have to have 3 accounts with them before you can do it. We only had banking & insurance with them at that time & since I had already cancelled my credit card with them, I did not have the 3 required accounts with them. Of course maybe it has changed by now?!

We have USAA and we love it. I would go ahead and switch now. However, if you waited until after you moved, you would have your new address to put on your checks. It was super easy and painless to switch.
