4) 50 lbs
5) I stopped paying attention whne I gained 60

Between just before my first child and just after my last I have had an increase, though, of just 30 lbs.

I'm a tiny person usually so I'm a big gainer. I worked hard and put on 60+ with Liam, and so far this pregnancy I am up 50lbs with three months left to go. Gaining is hard but I do it because the bebes need that!! They really do. My friend is about the same size as me usually, and all of her babies have looked so sickly and had to stay in the hospital, she hardly gained at all. I'm not taking any chances!

And thanks for sharing, guys and thanks for posting this poll. I was actually feeling pretty bad about my weight gain because of all the propaganda out there telling you that no matter who you are you should only gain 25lbs or whatever. It's nice to know that I'm normal!!!! :hugs

for those of you who have had kids is it hard to loose the weight? I am just worried because I have lost all this weight and to gain it back and not be able to loose it would suck.

16-18 pounds with Zoe.

I've only gained 5-6 pounds with this one.

ETA: Zoe was 9 pounds 2.2 ounces at birth and by the time I left the hospital all of the extra weight plus some was gone :lol

I kept an extra 40 lbs after my first. With the last 2 it all came off within a few months, but I attribute that mostly to breastfeeding.

I guess it depends on the person. I just know that I kept a majority of the weight with the baby that I didn't breastfeed and lost all and then some with the ones that I did, lol. :shrug

This is what I've read/been told:
You can lose about 30-40lbs when the baby is born because you lose the weight of the amniotic fluid, the extra blood and other fluids you've been retaining, and you are no longer carrying the weight of the baby.
Also, I've heard that breastfeeding does aid in weight loss. BUT , sometimes it still takes a few months for you to start seeing results and it still takes time for you to lose the full amount. It's really different for everyone.

I lost all the weight with Liam fast. I delivered at 175ish and a month later was 108. I did follow the same strict diet and exercise regime I always have, though.

I only gained 10lbs but that is also cause my morning sickness was so bad that I lost over 40 lbs the first 3-4 months. So by the time I got back up to my pre pg weight I only gained another 10 lbs.

I gained about 50-55 pounds with my twins.

When we left the hospital three days after they were born, I had dropped 35 pounds. I dropped the rest by about three months afterward. It was easy for me, but I was a scrawny bitch to start with. :lol

I gained 14 lbs. with my twins ... I lost some in the beginning and then gained a little and could fit in my regular clothes when I left the hospital. When I went for my one month check up I weighed less then before I got pregnant.

My son I gained about 16 lbs. and STILL haven't lost it 5 years later lol.

I picked 30 lbs b/c that's been my average. I gained around 30-40 with my first, I actually can't remember the exact amount :lol

I gained around 33 with my second.

I gained right at 30 with my third.

And I'm less than a month to go with this one and gave gained 20 lbs so far. So, I'm assuming I'll hopefully stay less than 25 lbs this time.
