Do any of you notice yourselves going out to eat more than you usually do instead of cooking? I would imagine it would mainly be ones without kids, but I'm just curious :)

Yep. When dh would deploy I would always go out to eat. ANd for some weird reason I would even lose weight :giggle Those days are lonnnnnggggg gone now tho (L) I'll be cooking for most of the meals and taking the kiddos out to eat as a treat

It depends on how long of a day i had at work. Sometimes we will stop somewhere and grab something

Glad I'm not alone!!! I've cooked mac and cheese, but that's about it...basically everything else has been out.

Yep, why cook a big meal for 2. She is picky anyway

I use to do that or I would eat alot of cereal & just simple stuff instead of cooking a whole big meal

Even with kids when the husband was gone fast food was much easier than cooking.

Its not ever been just me but I cook at home. For me its just eaisier. It also gave the advantage of using a meal out as a treat. My kids think its a huge deal to go out of dinner.

I notice I skip eating more... or eat something trivial. Never fix a meal for just me.

Nope, I'm actually the opposite. We hardly ever go out to eat when DH is gone. We eat out alot more when DH is home.

Ohhh definitley! I've probably cook full meals like mmm three times since J left. If I'm not eating out I most likely will eat a sandwich or snack.

Oh yes I did!! :yes
I ate out more than ever because back in those days it was just 1 of me so why go spend money on groceries to cook alone. I would get easy things and pick up take out or get something delivered, or get fast food. Its fast adn easy but sure packs the pounds on for me. :giggle

Hmm, I guess I'm in the minority here, I cook alot for myself. I've got quite a bit of baby weight still to lose and even with only going to the gym 3-4 times a week, I'm still losing weight with DH gone. Also we are trying to save money for a trip and stuff when he gets back from deployment, it's a lot cheaper for me to eat at home.

Same here! We always have tons of leftovers, and it gets a little depressing when we are at the dinner table and daddy's chair is empty :(. We normally go out to eat, but I make sure we still eat healthy ;)

Oh hell yeah I did that. For about 2 months and than I told myself I had to stop. So I made a vow to cook good meals every night and thats what I have been doing for the past foru months. It better this way and the kids love to take turns picking what they want for dinner, Now I wiukd rather eat in than oout(Ican't believe I said that)

I usually just eat cereal or a sandwich when my family and i don't cook... when i move I'm sure it won't be much, but a friend of mine and i are planning on working on our cooking skills before our hubby's get home... hopefully that will help us lose some more weight before our honey's get home!

Yeah, whenever dh is gone, it's much easier to grab something quick, especially being in school. Not too good for my hips though :).
