View Full Version : do you........?
iLuvKev 08-13-2008, 12:37 PM Does anyone make cash on the side or make extra profit while at home? I mean for the SAHM do you do things that help bring in some spare change? like online surveys, marketing etc?
I'm a student and I've been looking into ways to make some extra cash to help pay the bills lol. Like selling on Ebay. I sacirficed a lot of money comeing to NC to live with Db for the summer, and now that i'm going back to school in the fall I'll be flat broke and I have to look for a job and who knows how long that will take.
Does anyone have adive or suggestions?
crybeautiful 08-13-2008, 12:46 PM You should try selling Avon or something along those lines. If you know a few people who would buy the stuff, you could make some extra money doing that! It only costs like, 10 bucks to start.
Jordan 08-13-2008, 12:48 PM I had thought about being a Pure Romance consultant. It looks like lots of fun. I am planning on making cakes and cookies though and selling them from home.
Are you crafty? You could do all kinds of things... I know people that scrapbook for other people, you could make quilts, you could paint stuff and sell it at craft malls... the options are endless.
Chels 08-13-2008, 12:50 PM yeah you could sell avon or marykay. anything like that. when you move back, get a job somewhere..just a simple one.
iLuvKev 08-13-2008, 12:54 PM yea i'm going to start at my old job but it's only like 6 hours a week. I guess it's good for the time being until I can find somethng stable.
I was thinking of making some jewelry and selling it on ebay. I tried the whole marykay thing and it wasnt worth it, or at least it wasnt working for me.
monkeyinabarrel 08-13-2008, 03:18 PM Are you good at english? I used to write papers for the jocks at my college for cash.I would make them do an outline and sit next to me while i wrote the paper so that it wasn't just straight up cheating, i'd get like $100-200 a paper depending on the length. Or sometimes i would just type for them because they were bad at it. They would write the paper by hand and i would input it into the computer., I would usually charge $50 for a four page paper.
Can you sew? I also used to make extra cash doing this, not even complicated stuff just buttons and sewing stirrups on baseball uniforms.
Mrs.Highfill 08-13-2008, 05:38 PM I babysit and I'm a secret shopper. My last paycheck for a months worth of shops was $149.67. Not too bad IMO

Me too!!!
mitziebella 08-16-2008, 04:27 AM I tried doing surveys online, but it was just too boring and not good on my computer. I tried selling things, but i am not a good sales person, so i did not make much. I now work part-time at night and it works best for me to bring in extra cash to help out with bills.
infinity629 08-16-2008, 06:24 PM There is a place you can go on post and they have a list of jobs that open on post and off. A lot of the places hire military wives before they hire civilians. I found a job on post, and although Im not a mom (yet), a lot of other military wives/moms work there part time, its good to get out of the house for a few days a week and make some extra money!
I have heard of online surveys; just be careful, dont ever pay to take online surveys. The legit places dont make you pay!
Proud_MPWIFE 08-17-2008, 11:34 PM I use to babysit but found it not to be worth it.
Aunt Sponge 08-17-2008, 11:36 PM I tried to gte into Avon and Passion Parties but found that drumming up the time with my hubby's bizarro work schedule and al lthe kids is just impossible to do!
So I make jewelry and sell it time to time - working towards making it a real business. :wise
J.Ski 08-18-2008, 02:02 AM Sorry I've been slow to get back about mystery shopping. This website lists a bunch of legitimate mystery shopping companies. http://www.volition.com/mysteryUSA1.html
