df is Army (just in case that makes a difference) and i was just wondering how and when he gets his signing bonus? is it lump sum after hes finished with all his training or is it distributed with his basic pay...?

My boyfriend told me it's after you finish basic but I'm not sure because he's still going through basic right now.

usually once you check into your regular command it is about 90 days after that. I'm not sure about sign on bonuses if it is one lump sum ( with 28% tax taken out of course) or if they do half up front and then payments once a year.

depends on how he agreed to get it when he signed his contract.
It's normally a lump sum couple of months after he gets to his first post. But if he signed for it to be spread out over his contract....he'll get a chunk at 2-3 months after graduation, and every year after.

actually now that i think about it i vaguely remember df saying something about getting half after graduation and the rest spread out...:sigh i hope he gets some after grad because were gonna need it

oh i forgot to mention you probably will not get any after grad since he has to put in the paperwork and that usually only happens once they get somewhere permanent.

My fiance checked in at the end of June and then finished gold phase July 18 - so we are still waiting for his bonus.... too! Man do we need it as well!
At the most it has been 54 days ... do not know when they start counting- his recruiter entered the paper work for it and then they did it again when he was inducted into the unit in July... if so - then 37 days...
I am in the same boat- I have heard it only taking 30 days for some. But we are national guard maybe it is different...
