View Full Version : Discounts
Elizabeth 08-24-2008, 09:03 PM K, Don't give me any lip about discounts not being a benefit, just wanted to put this somewhere sort of logical where it wouldn't get buried! I dunno if we have a stickied thread somewhere with this info.
I went shopping this weekend and learned of some places that offer discounts...
Lowe's gave me 10%
NY & Co gave me 15%
and Finish Line offers 20% discounts.
I never ask, but my wallet is always sitting out when I pay and they recognized the military ID.
Anyway, that's all!

Oh Elizabeth, you scared me when I first read your post. Because I'm Kathy, and people often refer to me as K... I thought you were mad at me for a minute there. :P Then, I realized you weren't...phew!
As a new Military spouse, it's kind of exciting to learn of these discounts. Btw, Sea World is currently admitting free all military and their dependants in a promotion. I went last week. ;)

Bryanna 09-02-2008, 04:35 PM I don't know any specific numbers, but I DO know that discounts happen a LOT more often here in a base town than they did back in Madison where there isn't too much military.
LoveDisappears 09-02-2008, 04:50 PM When I lived in SD, I went to PB I think it is and got a 25% discount at a bathing suit store because the guy who owned it or something his son was in the military or something like that, thought that was pretty sweet!

i totally agree!!! here in indiana i know aeropostale does and hot topic has it posted on the outside glass of the shop that they offer 10% military discount. but other than that its hit and miss. the auto zone here will if the right manager is working but the one that is in plainfield won't do it period. :vent papa john's is supposed to give one as well but the one here looked at me like i was crazy when i asked if they gave military discounts. so it really does depend on where you are at.:dunno
Loretta 09-02-2008, 05:00 PM Hot Topic offers the 10% to ALL military and dependents who have a valid ID. That's the company policy. I still have my handbook and that's what it says...and the same handbook is being issued this year, hasn't been changed. If someone told you it's only the AD member, they were wrong:wink
Here's another site that lists places that offer military discounts:

Every penny helps!
Aplatel87 09-02-2008, 05:03 PM IHOP gives 20% and subway gives 10%. Thats all that I know of.
browneyedbeauty 09-02-2008, 06:12 PM Torrid (an offshoot of Hot Topic) offers the military discount as well.
