CoffeeGirl 06-23-2006, 08:38 PM wow not sure-usually the Navy is REAL quick about taking $:yes BLBnJVB3 06-23-2006, 08:41 PM wow not sure-usually the Navy is REAL quick about taking $:yes So true. But real SLOW at giving it to you when they owe you. reynswife 06-23-2006, 08:54 PM Check the bottom part of his LES. They are "supposed" to put that kind of info there. MW5M 06-23-2006, 08:56 PM And hope they dont go... oh we were supposed to start taking this back XXX amount of months ago, so we are just going to take it all at once right now :yes Joy 06-23-2006, 08:57 PM Wow, it normally comes out of the next pay check. :dunno Rileysmom 06-23-2006, 09:23 PM And hope they dont go... oh we were supposed to start taking this back XXX amount of months ago, so we are just going to take it all at once right now :yes It took the Navy 2 years to figure out that they overpaid my husband for a move... they notified us a year ago, and they took it out two months ago. In one lump sum. He even went to the ship and asked if they could take it out in November b/c we had his reenlistment then, and they "said" they would, but never did. So it could be taken out at any time. I would just set that money aside and don't count on it, to be safe! HTH mossey2000 06-23-2006, 09:25 PM yeah Ive rearranged things...it's just driving me NUTS b/c like you say.....usually they don't play with taking money. Now with money owed....... mossey2000 06-23-2006, 09:27 PM oh and thanks lol......no info on LES...is it their mission to drive me nuts? Ste9 06-23-2006, 09:29 PM They don't usually tell you when they are taking it out. Once they figure out that they have overpaid you they just take it, without warning. We had that happen when we moved to San Deigo. We didn't even know that we had been overpaid - in the span of 2 months we moved, he advanced, went over 4 years, was flown to the ship to a taxfree zone and we moved into housing. It was a mess! He had been paid for some things that he shouldn't, not paid for things that he should, and the ship couldn't provide him with an LES. I learned my lesson after that:yes instant_oatmeal 06-23-2006, 10:25 PM They overpaid us when we moved and they talked to dh about it but thats it. He's been asking and asking and they still dont do anything. He hasn't even signed up for the allotment or anything. I'm worried that one month he just wont get a check and then we're screwed! :( |
