So how the heck do you get money in your account? Like cash or checks? I heard somewhere that you scan the checks but you have to have a certain amount of accounts open with them. We're getting there but we don't want to get a credit card till after we move. We're trying to consolidate as it is. So how the heck do you manage that? Just cash it at a 3rd party and put the cash in through any ATM machine?

I'm lost. This internet banking is way beyond me. :giggle

You can open an account at another bank then link the accounts and do transfers via the internet
or you can mail in the checks for deposit ( they send you postage paid envelopes for free)

If you have a scanner you can use their scan and deposit method or just mail them in. Cash can not be deposited into any other ATM but a USAA one which is only in San Antonio where the bank is located.

We get postage paid envelopes from USAA and mail them in (not the quickest way to deposit, though) but both DH and I have direct deposit for our paychecks.

are you serious? i thought everyone said this was convenient! how are you supposed to deposit money if it isn't a direct deposit!?

I just found out about this too. If you cant scan it in cause you dont have a loan or cc with them thats ok. IF you have a local bank, deposit it in there, then go to the usaa site, click on the account you need the money in, then to the right there is a drop down menu that says more services, on that there is a deposit section that says something about transfer money from a credit or debit card. Then use the debit card from your local bank and you can put that money into your usaa acct. I just did it this morning. It was so freaking easy and it was there right away. sorry if its kinda confusing, you can pm me if you need to.
