LOS ANGELES, California (Reuters) -- Oops, she lost her clothes.

A six-month pregnant Britney Spears has posed nude for the cover of the August issue of Harper's Bazaar magazine and an accompanying photo spread inside, much in the style of the famous 1991 Vanity Fair cover of a naked and heavily pregnant Demi Moore.

On the Harper's Bazaar cover, a dark-haired Spears covers her breasts with her arms and crosses her legs at the knee, as she sits smiling into the camera.

Harper's said pop singer Spears "was never more beautiful" than when it photographed her a week ago and that it was the first time it had printed a nude photo on its cover.

The magazine added, "Since word leaked out about the shoot on Monday, people have been desperate to get their hands on the exclusive photos which were posted on various Web sites without permission from the magazine."

The former teen idol whose hit songs include "Oops, I Did It Again," Spears has frequently complained that she is hounded by paparazzi and earlier this month appealed to them to leave her alone. She also recently came under criticism for driving with her baby on her lap while fleeing a photographer.

In an interview with NBC "Today" show host Matt Lauer, she tearfully admitted to being "an emotional wreck," and defended husband Kevin Federline from sniping in tabloids.

Hmm... that site says that she doesn't look good and t he people are on crack, but I honestly think she looks amazing. She's like 7 months pregnant now, right? I wish MY body looked like that at 7 months preggo :lol I think she looks really pretty. The dark hair looks better than the ratty fake blonde hair with extentions :dunno

She does look good. But alot of it is photoshopped, makeup etc. Thats why they said that I think! ;)

She looks gorgeous (even though I can't stand her lol) I'm not feeling the black hair though, It needs to be a little lighter.

And I believe the photo is airbrushed.. bc if you guys remember her interview, she was very pale and in these photos she's tan... but if so, I think thats ok too! i mean, if i took nude pics and could make them look better with a little airbrushing, damn right I would!:wink

I think she looks good, but I think her skin is suffering. Or maybe that's just the excessive make-up. Or maybe its her eyebrows - like she hasn't been getting them shaped recently or something.

But otherwise, I think the photos are lovely. I want glamourous shots like that when I'm pregnant one day. Even if someone -did- photoshop them, I think I'd still be psyched if I came out looking that pretty at the time!

the dark hair is kinda different, not sure if i am really loving it. it's just ok. i really do hope i look this ok when i'm pregnant one day, photoshopped or otherwise. she looks beautiful because she is and pregnancy is. as always this is just going to give those people who want to talk negatively another reason. she'll never escape that.

I think she looks wonderful! I wish I looked like that when I was preggo. Also, I kinda like her dark hair ;). Much better than that blonde bottle job she had.

I think she looks good but you can tell it's photoshopped but still i would hope to look that good at 7 months :) I don't like her at all but still think she looks ok :)

She looks great, its amazing what make up, bronzer and airbrushing does. I do adore her hair colour though, its gorgeous.

The picture looks good. Her legs look smaller than when I saw her on some interview not long ago. Good job with the photoshop though.
