My sailor is coming home in 88 days! I am coming to Norfolk to pick him up and I was wondering if any of you had stayed at the Navy Lodge before? All the hotels are crazy expensive or look like dumps. ANy ideas?

Yes, the Navy Lodge is your best bet. When we first came here, we did not want to stay at the navy lodge, but after one night of staying in the Days Inn for $88 a night, and being DISGUSTED, we went to the navy lodge and it was the best! Make your reservations early, it seems to always be booked.

I stayed at the Navy Lodge about 8 months ago. It's really not that bad and it's decently priced. I went to the one in Norfolk, VA during the winter time so we didn't have to make a reservation. I would recommend getting a reservation though since it's the summertime. (like youngwifey said)

The virginia beach area is a tourist area. They jack up the prices for everything, including hotels..it's ridiculous.. so I wouldn't even try unless you had a couple hundred dollars to blow for one night.

We just stayed int he navy lodge in Dec before we moved. We paid like $60 a night and it was really nice. Just make sure you ask for a room in the main building. The outside building is really outdated and nasty. It grossed me out. But the main building is so nice with a kitchenette in each room and they have a little NEX shopette in the main building so you can things to eat and drink. It's really nice. But like the other's said call and make a reservation. Call now and ask them how soon in advance you should make one. Good luck.

How long are you staying for? When we moved here we were going to stay at the Navy lodge until we found a place. I ended up looking for other options and we ended up staying at the Sun Suites Inn in Chesapeake. If you are staying at least a week the room ends up being about $42 a night and it was in a great area and a real nice room. It has a little kitchenette and everything. It ended up being cheaper than the lodge. Grenated this was in March and it may be a tad higher in the summer.
