Hi I was just wondering if someone could help me? My Dh wants to go back in full time, he is currently Reserve. He has over 4 years in Regular Navy from before we were married, then a year now in Reserve. He is a PO 3, takes exam in Feb? for advancement. My question is this, cause I am Navy clueless :dunno , how would and can he do that, go full time, since we have 5 kids? Will that be a factor? Thanks for answering.

since he is already in the reserves he should have no prob going active. the only time age or kids are a factor is if you going into the military for the first time ever.

age is still a factor going back in and so is credit. i think the age was/is 32 or 34 and they ran DH's credit again when he went back.

It will also be based on his Rate if his rate is over manned his chances are very unlikely that they will let him back in.
If that is the case and they do then he would have to pick a rate that is undermanned and possibly loose rank.
Kids are definately a factor too cause the gov doesn't want to pay for the "added expenses" that go with at large family

yup, DH's rate was way overmanned and he had to pick a new one. nothing like starting at E3 all over again.:mad
