I am going to a OB/GYN off of the tricare standard list instead of going to the Navy Doctor. What are you doing?

Naval and I hate it so far. I do like my doctor, but the team I am with is AWFUL with scheduling.

Out in town. The Naval hospital here doesn't do pregnancy so you are automatically referred out. This is the same Dr and hospital I had E at and I love em to death.

I live by Kristi so I see the same docs she sees out in town. I absolutely ADORE the whole office of docs, the hospital, the care I received, the whole 9yards! I had such a great experience with my pregnancy with Shelby that we decided to have this baby a little closer to Shelby than we had originally planned because I wanted the chance to see these docs and deliver here before we go back to sea duty. I absolutely LOVE my care up here.

I will never see another military doctor again unless I ABSOLUTELY HAVE TO. If we ever have another child, I will pay the extra money to be seen out in town. I know there are good military docs out there (Jaxon and Shelb's ped is a military doc and I absolutely LOVE LOVE LOVE him) but when it comes to my pregnancy I want the choice to see who I want to see and get the best care possible.

Right now I go to the Family Practice Clinic and it's a navy clinic but I see a civilian doctor. I do this only because it's the easiest at the time and I'm done having children.
When I was having babies I went out on town to a GYN and had all my babies at civilian hospitals.

I went to the Naval hospital. I love my doctor there and I was able to see her as my doctor when I was pregnant too.

All military two-I was AD and two I was a civilian

First two babies I was Air Force ( and I worked at the hospital) so great care!!!

with our last two babies it was Naval---third baby was in VA--I hate VA beach docs, always some one new in Damn Neck and always making comments about baby #3.

Fourth baby was Lemoore naval docs and I love it!!!!!

I kept my insurance from my work so I could have that as my primary and tricare as secondary, and go to civillian dr's. Even if I hadn't kept my UHC I would still be going to the civillian dr I see now because they take tricare standard...I don't really want to go to the NAS Jax hospital, and the location of my dr is much more convienant than NAS. I just kept the two insurances so I would have very little out of pocket expense regarding the hospital stay.

I'll be going out in town. We live to far from the base, so all my docs are civilian.

I didn't get a choice :(
They said since we lived close enough to a military hospital then if I went civi it would be all out of pocket or I better have another back up insurance...
So... I had to have him at NAS Jax and had to been seen at Mayport or NAS for all my appts... I chose NAS so I could have a "regular" dr that didn't rotate out and then have some stranger deliver me.

Where I am in Virginia I don't have the option to go out into town for OB :( I hate the OB here.

We have Tricare Prime so I'm not sure how Standard works. But when I was preggo with Johnny I had a civilian OB/GYN. The whole 4 years we were in FL. Breanna and I had a civi. dr. Now I go to medical on base. If I could I'd go out in town. I begged, literally, when we got here and they said no. When I was preggo with Breanna John was a civilian so I had civi drs.
