Temporarily Assigned Duty

Temporary Assigned duty. Like if he gets hurt and get be on the ship they will put him TAD working somewhere else. Or if the ship is gone or leaving and he can't go for medical or other reasons they will assign him to TAD. Hope that helped alittle. I think I got that right lol

Yes NAVYWIFEJESS was right... Josh was TAD during this last deployment due to my complicated pregnancy. They assigned him to a different place to work on base.

It can apply in the case of going to a school as well. My DH had to go to a school not in the area where his permanent duty station was so he went TAD to the school for 2 months then came back.
