Nothing - they will schedule it for a different time. Is everything ok?

Your agent will ask for an extension if there's a holdup

Well there are a few problems...

1. USAA dropped the fucking ball... they took 9 fucking days to get loan documents, so we were supposed to sign today, but they sent them to the wrong place.

2. Our interest rate lock is good until our close date (which is the 3rd), so now we have to pay a fee to extend it or take the "worst case scenario" rate? :confuzzle :dunno

So frustrated right now.. Thanks for the support ladies.

That sucks, make sure you get an extension ASAP on your rate and your contract. Rates got a little better today but in general rates are going up. I do mortgages, feel free to PM me with questions.

So what is a worst case scenario rate then? Is that something I can look up to see what we are working with? :dunno

USAA updates their rates only once a month they said.. something like every Tuesday I think?

Worst case scenario rate will be whatever the rate is at closing. I would get the extension.

They'll extend if you don't make the closing date. We had the same worry because our mortgage lender decided at the last minute they needed this-this-and-this :rolleyes

USAA sent the papers to the wrong place, their mistake, they should pay for the extension.

That's what our realtor said too. I think I'm going to request (demand) that. It's $400!!!

USAA can't email documents?

Being in the industry (not for long now) yes you should request USAA to pay for that fee. It is their fault! You could ask for a $400 credit at closing for it.

Are you buying the home from a current seller or is it a bank owned property?

It's bank-owned, so everything takes 4-7 days on their end, they are swamped!!!

USAA did pay the second notary fee though, I didn't even need to ask, so that's great! They also waived the rate lock extension fee too, per my request.

So USAA did email the docs to the title company again, and we signed them at 8PM on the 1st via a mobile notary. Then we find out yesterday the zip code was wrong. So yesterday we drove down to San Diego and resigned the fucking documents and they should be back to the bank by this morning. I really don't think it's going to happen though.

Fuckingfuck!!!!!!!!! :gaah

That's one less weekend we have to do this remodel, not to mention the VA requires 12 months of AD remaining the day after we close, and that day is October 4th (hence the October 3rd closing date). USAA better fucking make it happen or I will be through the roof.

I'm sorry you are having such a hard time with them. The industry in general is slow right now which is making everything difficult.
