I don't know about anyone else but sex put me in labor with my daughter. We would have sex, go to Hooters and eat hot wings then go walk a mall. Worked like a charm for me.

It definitely does work....for me I only had sex maybe once a week or every two weeks at the end, both times I got checked after and it made me dialate more and the night I went into labor I had been checked the day before and I was at a soft 3-4 and I had sex the next day and I was a full 4-5!

Sex never worked for me, and God knows I tried. Nothing worked for me in getting me into labor. I even tried the Evening Primrose Oil. None of my babies wanted to come out.

I never tried it. I have a friend who does it she thinks it puts her into labor but all it does is cause contractions. Once everything settles down the contrax stop. To me that's not labor. Once labor starts, it doesn't stop. Most (yes, not all) doctors will tell you the same. Her doctor even told her that but she still thinks having sex put her in labor. Anyway, at least for me once it all started it never stopped. With my first 12 hours later I had a baby and with my others less than 5 hours later they were here. I never messed around though trying to "start" anything. I just let it happen and when it did it was fairly quick.

I say no. Everyone swears up and down it does however all 3 pregnancies I was rather late and had sex and no babies. My first 2 I went 9 days late and my last I was 8 days late. So I say they are all wives tales the baby will eventually come or you will get a merciful dr who will let you be out of your misery sooner. Good luck.

I think babies will come when they are ready. I never wanted to take mine out of the cooker sooner than they needed LOL My doctors always had my due dates wrong. I am not a "textbook" ovulator. Even though I can remember being uncomfortable and ready for the baby to arrive, I really woulnt have wanted them any sooner than they were ready for their health if anything ;) Does that make sense? Hope so.

its not the sex, its the sperm.. the same stuff they use to induce labor is in the sperm...but not alot of it...so just have tons of sex lol!!

Your uterus contracts when you have an orgasim. So sex in itself CAN cause contractions. Sperm helps to ripen the cervix. When I went overdue they told me to walk and have sex. And my childbirth class said that sex can get things going. It is the combination of the sperm and the contractions that are caused by the orgasim you have

I hear alot of people saying that actually exercising can help you go into labor. Something simple, like walking. Especially walking. I know a couple of woman who were made to walk before they went into labor, they were told to walk a mile or two a day, and plus it will give you more energy when time comes.

Since DH got back I had been using him LOL and the only thing it does it gives me very strong contractions and than they fade away for a while.

I heard a lot of walking can bring on labor. We have been walking, playing volleyball, and sex, Im also trying the Evening Primrose Oil (sp) will see if it helps. I go to my next doc. apt. on friday.

Im not 100% ready for the baby to come. Im just anxious to meet him/her :)

I REALLY think it varies for everyone and baby will come when ready. SOme people swear by walking. But I walked EVERY darn day from October 16th until November 2nd. I was due October 24th :giggle and had him November 4th. So I think it varies. I do know the sex does cause contrax tho. I think if your body is already contracting, and possibly dilating then all it can do is help KWIM? :D

Nothing that you do to get labor going will work unless you are ready to go into labor anyway.

Sperm and evening primrose oil help to soften the cervix and can actually shorten your labor. I used evening primrose oil oil with each pregnancy starting at 30 weeks and my longest labor was a little over 4 hours. So have lots of sex, ripen that cervix and when you go into labor hope that it's short!! If nothing else, at least you got the :sex. Now we just need to figure out how to help Apryl!:giggle

I drank Castor Oil :sick it was nasty but it worked. I had the shits all night before I started my contractions though.

When I was pregnant with Aiden I walked and walked the last month- for MILES. It did not work. With him I was so impaitent, I can really seriously wait. I don't think I'll get pissy until I go postdue.
