Hi, I've been a Navy spouse for 10 years now and am used to many things but this delay of orders really bites. My dh wanted to go to Bahrain where I didn't so they he is going unaccompanied for 1 year and I am going back to Hawaii. They said this was fine as it was cheaper than shipping us all to Bahrain. After that dh is going to look for a ship out of Pearl. Anyway, I have an 8 year old son and cats to transfer. One month until school starts and still no sign of the orders. Usually by now he would be on his one months leave, our household goods would have gone the animals would be going through their pre-requisites and we would be off and looking forward to our next station.

Detailer said he was due to arrive in Bahrain at the end of august (it was the beginning last couple of moves). I am anxious and on edge waiting. All of our plans have been made over the last 6 months to move now. So I now have no job and feel that I am in Limbo.

Any suggestions as to what is going on with the Navy with PCS moves as I can't move until he gets orders cut.

As the end of the fiscal year approaches, the military runs out of money. Orders are put on hold as are moves.:shrug

Hope everything gets straightened out soon.

I,

I know about the fiscal year as my dh is an SK but he accepted orders at the beginning of March this year. Isn't this stretching a bit far. I have never had to wait so long before. We always moved on time but then the last one was to shore duty and he had been on a pre-com then the ship at sea for 4 years..

Last I hear was that the Detailer said they had no authorisation to hold him back until Oct but it was possible that it might happen. By the way it took him 3 weeks to talk to Detailer last time and find out what he had to do to move me unaccompanied...That was calling them every hour on the hour..

Dear ET, I'm sorry your DH has been extended on his ship. It seems that they are having lots of problems implementing any pcs moves. I hope he gets home soon and you have a great shore duty...
