View Full Version : Suddenly she won't eat meat...normal?
Becca 07-10-2006, 06:23 PM Hey girls...I just wanted to ask around and see if this is normal or if I should be concerned. DD used to eat whatever, but suddenly she won't eat meat...well, she'll eat hotdogs...but if we have chicken or roast or anything else with meat, she will eat everything BUT the meat. She eats her veggies no problem and if we have a side she'll eat it - OMG the girl LOVES couscous...but it's so messy :giggle
Anyways, is this normal?
My kids always seem to go through that stage. I still put it on their plate though.
Sarah 07-10-2006, 06:26 PM Totally normal. They go through their phases ;). She will come around. In the mean time, it's great she's eating the fruits and veggies :yes
My son wouldnt eat anything but chicken until he was probably 4 yrs old? Just flat out refused beef or pork. :dunno He outgrew it.
Sarah 07-10-2006, 06:27 PM OMG my kids love couscous too, but it is VERY messy! I am constantly on my hands and knees cleaning up the mess. Then if I miss a spot, I am stepping on dried couscous for the remainder of the night :lmao
Debra 07-10-2006, 06:27 PM Brendan started the no meat when he was about 2. At almost 7, he still very rarely eats meat. He'll eat anything else before meat. I could really see this little guy going total vegetarian.
As long as she is still getting plenty of protein & vitamins, I wouldn't force the issue! ;)
BLBnJVB3 07-10-2006, 06:29 PM Breanna goes through phases where she'll love something for awhile and then hate it or vice versa. Like now she won't eat pepperoni. She says it is too hot. She used to only eat pizza if it had pepperoni on it. I keep giving her a little bit or the option to have it.

LOL Sarah you need a dog ;)
Thanks girls - I didn't think it was anything to be TOO concerned about, it just sort of started out of the blue, and she wasn't this picky even a month ago. Good to know it's probably just a phase ;)
Brandi 07-10-2006, 06:40 PM BOTH of mine have went through that, and Jaxon has gone through it several times. Sometimes he'll eat it, sometimes he won't. Right now, he's not eating much. He will pick around it and eat everything but the meat. Shelby is on again off again with it. Sometimes she will eat it, sometimes she won't. Totally normal!
ValGal 07-10-2006, 06:56 PM I think it's totally normal. Doodles all go through some sort of food weirdness phase. Even Jut did, LOL
RockstarMom 07-10-2006, 06:56 PM They go through this until you aren't the one feeding them anymore! :lmao
mara_jade81 07-10-2006, 07:45 PM madison doesn't like many meats either, it's been awhile since she's had much besides chicken and hot dogs.
Becca 07-10-2006, 09:15 PM They go through this until you aren't the one feeding them anymore! :lmao
She's been feeding herself for the last 6 months :dunno
Caimbrie 07-10-2006, 10:05 PM DEFINATELY normal! My kids go through phases all the time! :nutts
