Hi Ladies! What are the really nice hotels in VA? Are the hotels nicer in Virginia Beach or Norfolk? Or somewhere else really close in that general area? Anything.... Anything...

The new Hilton on the oceanfront (in virginia beach) is very nice! I stayed there last year when it first opened. :thumbsup

It depends on your preference and how much you're willing to spend for a nice hotel. Most hotels in virginia beach are near/on the ocean.

My dad is a carpenter and has worked in most of the hotels on the oceanfront.. so I get to stay in them very often, even though I live here. :P

I know your probably not looking for a Super 8, or Days Inn or Ramada Inn, but DO NOT STAY at the Super 8 on Ocean View Drive. It was nasty, dirty looking and smelled bad. I was really upset after getting the room, we stayed there while looking for a house and it was going to be another chunk of change to get an Ocean View room, and it was dirty and gross. I was mad. I have always stayed in Super 8's before and thought it was going to be okay, but I was wrong. I have not stayed in any of the bigger nicer more expensive hotels, but we did stay in Days Inn and Ramada Inn in Hampton, those were cleaner. The Ramada Inn behind Hooters was the cleaner. Sorry I can't help with any more expensive, nicer or romantic hotel suggestions.

We have never had any problems staying in the Navy Lodges before but this weekend we stayed in the one in Norfolk and :inshock I was shocked! We were in the older outside part and the foundation was falling down on most of the building! I have heard that the new, inside part is very nice...so if you stay there do NOT ask for the old section, lol. Also I have heard that Dam Neck's lodge is very nice. :)
