He is getting out Jan 15th. They need ten business days to outprocess him from Jax. He wants to take terminal leave...by the end of Dec, he would have 18 days on the books to take. However, weekends count (like everyone here knows). By his figuring, that would put him home on Dec. 16th. But I just looked at it. In reality, he is going to be stuck in Jax for Christmas period. No matter how little or much leave he takes, he is screwed. Good thing his aunt is 2.5 hours away from Jax.

I accepted that reality a looonnggg time ago. He hasn't yet. I know its the last one we'll be apart, and have already planned to have a late Christmas with him.

Unfortunately no. They won't outprocess him from SD either.
He has an aunt that lives about 2.5 hours away from base at JAX, so we may see what we can do about renting him a car so he can drive.

I am very new and don't really know the situation, but why won't you be together? If he has the leave and it can start on Dec 16, he can go anywhere he wants to for his leave. See here we outprocess before your terminal leave. We just had a guy outprocess and take 3 months on leave after out processing. he already moved and everything.
