I have a question for you divorced girls with kids and your ex is still military....
Paul is being a total dick and not getting any of my questions answered. What else is knew... :rolleyes
Ok...
Paul took me off his Page 2 so my ID and Insurance is "no more".
Jerron is Tricare standard due to the area we live in being so far from a base...
My ID has always been used as his proof of insurance.
What do I do know?
I have been told that in case of divorce Jerron "does" get an ID.
Can anyone please tell me what I need to do?!?
Paul said he would see about getting one while he is in Fallon now but we all know that won't happen, he won't even find out about how to get him one. So, I thought I would come to you girls for advice since I know I can always count on ya'll!!! :hugs

Yes Jer gets an id. Timmy has had one since he was 1 with his picture and same with Anya.

If you don't have POA, or on the Page 2. Then you will need to contact his command and let them know what is going on and usually they will push the paperwork through giving you permission to head to a DEERS office and get him one. I had to with asshat when he was in NC and we were out here in CA.

Jerron should have an ID Both my kids have one. They told us that if we were going to be traveling out of state with out the sponser that the kids need one before they are of age :shrug

My divorced friend has 2 kids with ID's that she uses to get herself on base and shop at the nex and commissary, and uses as proof of insurance.

Soooo its up to Paul to actually get it done?!?
Sweet God I'm screwed. :sadeyes
He was such an ass to me earlier when I asked him about all this...
Guess he figures since his Mom had Jer at his house now it made it "Ok" to treat my like crap.
God... If I wait on him to send me anything it will take months and months.
Look at how long it took him to sign PAID FOR divorce documents! :banghead
God I want to hate him so bad... but I know that's not the Christian thing to do... He's not worth hating and going to hell. :mad

well is it in your divorce papers that "Paul must carry insurance on the child. If not, then Paul is responsible for 100% of dr. bills"? Mine is that way. If the ass doesnt hold up his end then he gets screwed. So if having an ID is what you need to get him to a dr then it would be up to paul and I would write pauls address when it asks who is responsible for this bill.

ok that is written awful but maybe it gets my point across

If he won't do it Cori, go to his command.

It is in the divorce papers he hold insurance on Jer aslong as it is the job he is at offers it... And well he already holds it on him so I don't see how he can not do it.
But, yes if he doesn't get him one while he is out there... then damn skippy I will call him command. I have before... and I have money in like 2 hours! :lol

Cor calm down.
Pick up the phone.
Call his command.
And don't take no for an answer.
If he refuses to follow the court order and take care of Jer the way he needs to then you have EVERY right to go straight to his command.

He screwed himself

Yeppers! :yes
He said he would *try* and get him an ID while Jer is in Fallon.
I think he leaves next week sometime.
If he doesn't by then...
Cori the bitch strikes his little Command again! :devil

He needs and ID. If your ex wont get the paperwork for you I would either call PSD myself or call his command.

I am going through this with my StepDaughter.

He does get an ID, which I know the others have answered. If he is stationed on a ship then he needs to get a Form 1172 (theres a DD# in front of it too but they usually just say Form 1172). This can then be given to you to get the ID if you think he will not do it. You just need to make sure he signs it. If he is not stationed on a ship it would come from the base, not sure exactly where since my DH is on a ship but I know it can be done on base.

You can also, until he gets off his ass, call DEERS for your area and ask to receive an "Eligibilty Letter". This can be requested by the mom or the father. They will tell you, you need to request this in writing. It can be faxed to them and then they can fax the letter to you. It is done on a first come, first served basis so the sooner you request the sooner you get the letter. (This is what we are doing for DSD due to the ship messing the paperwork up before deployment, go figure.!:banghead ) Simple procedure and the letter acts as his card until you can get the ID done.

Hope this helps!!! :D

Thank You Keri! :)
He is on shore duty stationed out in Fallon so no ship. But, if he doesn't get Jer his ID this week since he has him in Fallon then I will call the ID office in Fallon and ask them what to do! That was very helpful! Thank You All :)

That was interesting information!! I still have my ID from when we were married and the doctors office went ahead and took it!!! Mike (my ex) told me they weren't allowed to get ID's till they were 11 so I would have to hold on to mine. :vent

We got an ID for my step daughter when she was 8, we took her to NAS Atlanta, but you should be able to get it at any military base with an ID office as long as you have the paperwork.

Once you are divorced you actually have 30 days to return your Spouse ID, you really are not suppose to keep them. I had a Detective call me at my house and I turned mine into Langley AFB.

Dependants of divorce, are allowed ID's no matter what the age. This is to prove they are the dependant of the Military member.

I just went through all of this on both sides, my exes & my husbands exes. We are now trying to get his DS straightened out since the ship messed up the paperwork. :banghead

So all I need to do if Ass doeswn't get Jer an ID is call the base and talk to someone and they can send me the paperwork to take to the closest base and get him an ID? I hope he gets him one but I want be holding my breathe you know? Making my life easier isn't his top priority.
Josh said if he dicks around about it call and tell him he has 2 weeks before I contact the Nevada court for violating a court order since he HAS to carry insurance on his son and without that ID he cant use it... Just one more up making him look like the POS he really is... how bad does he want to keep these rights? Blowing off his sons insurance on top of never calling him or asking about him or seeing him except when his Mom goes and gets him really doesn't look favorable in the court for retaining his rights. And I would like nothing more than revoking them because I know what he is and what kind of father he is.. NONE.

I think he has to get the paperwork because it has to be signed by the Sponser. But if he doesn't get his ass in gear you can call the command to get his ass a jolt. But in the mean time until he does get off his ass you can call DEERS immediately and get that letter ASAP!
