What happens when my boyfriends schooling doesnt have any openings until october. but he graduates in 9 days...he said he is staying out in illinois until october...what is he goign to be doing until his school opens up...any info would be great.. thanks

Will he have to work out still and will he be able to calll or is it still like they are in bootcamp?

He'll still have to do physical training, I'm not sure how much though - my db said that in A-school in Charleston, they're required to do PT 3 times a week. But I'm almost positive he'll be able to call and do "normal" things again (well, as normal as the Navy routine gets!). It'll be nothing like boot camp! :) I bet you're getting excited for PIR! My db just graduated on July 7th and it was an incredible time - hope you have a great time too!

I just asked my Dh (he works on the school side in Great Lakes) and he said he will be on hold and they will most likely have him do odd jobs like cleaning until it is time for him to start school. He will get liberty and such once his day is done.

My husband is here in Great Lakes on hold. He does stupid jobs like taking invintory of the office supplies. He was in GREAT mood :rolleyes when he came home from counting paper clips and pens all day!

He will most likly clean and PT all the time. My husband says its alot like boot camp.

for us they usually put you on duties such as picking weeds and doing what needs to be done. It is usually Admin hold.

Do u get to call home though when u are in holding after bootcamp?

they can call home as soon as they have a cell phone. If he already had one before boot camp send it to him after he gets to his next place. He wont be staying in the same place as boot camp
