This is actually a question that a parent on the other site I am on has been asking but what are some cell phone companies in Great Lakes or the surronding area that offer military discounts? Does Verizon? Also if you have no credit history do you know if these places make you pay a large deposit? :shrug I feel bad for the guy because no one will answer his question :no

Cingular does. I'm not sure if they require a large deposit if you don't have a credit history though. We have had Cingular for 5 years and we love them. Not once have we had a problem.
We have always had pay as you go cell phones thru T Mobile but dh just got a family plan thru Cingular (and his credit is worse than mine) and it is only 59.99 a month for two phones (mobile to mobile is free and you get 550 minutes a month).
I didn't know they had a military discount

I asked John if we had a military discount through them and he said yes. Maybe he is mistaken. :shrug

not sure about discounts, but I bought my cell from T-Moblie at the Lakside mall and they let me have it no problem. That was at 18 with 0 credit under my belt. I didn't pay any deposits.

Cingular has military discount. Its like 19% but unless they changed it, it used to be a pain in the butt to get it. I jumped thru hoops for 4 months and still never got it. I did switch to verizon and I am happy so far. I dont think they have a military discount

Verizon has a 15 percent discount on the main line and it must be in the service members name...ie ours is the family share plan and the main line (60.00) is in DH's name so it gets the 15 percent off and then we added my line for 10 dollars....

I think if you have no credit they dont charge a deposit but if you have bad credit thats when they make you pay.
