Im guessing it doesnt, but I was wondering if Tricare covers eye exams? I know it probably doesnt the glasses, I wasnt expecting it to, but I need to get my eyes checked...Thanks in advance...

I think they cover part of the exams. I think it's just for an eye glass exam though not contacts. But I'd call and ask!

They told me that they cover one eye exam a year unless you have a health problem such as diabetes. They do not cover glasses or contacts

That's messed up! They should have same services in every base, everyone has same bennefits.

They do glasses exams but not glasses-I just had mine done about 3 months ago & wasted my time thinking all along it was for contacts & then they told me they don't do contacts exams as they handed me my glasses prescription!:duh :duh :rolleyes

Jenny, the Lenscrafters here at the mall in Silverdale accepts Tricare. The exam is totally free. I know this since my daughter had her eyes done there, and I am getting mine rechecked too.

i'm not surprised more bases don't do the exams they've cut back on a lot of things, in charleston i got my eyes done there when i needed, for my first contact exam an outside doc did it but in the following years they did them along with my glasses exam, it sucks that each base is different

Do they do eye exams in Norfolk on base? We all need eye glasses. One thing I think is crappy is right now where we live they don't even have a family practice doctor. We are going to have to go out of town. This is in the town I grew up in.
