ya know, i tried to get my dh to tell me, and i guess it's not "classified" but he's not really suppose to talk to me about it. or at least he won't. and i haven't heard from anyone else. but he did say a lot of running, and being up for like 48 hours straight. dh called me right after they finished he was so exhausted that when i finally saw him again, he said he didn't remember anything about the phone call other than the fact he called. sorry i wasn't much help, but as far as i know, we can't know...

In Battlestations you stay up all night, going from one drill to another, drills are designed to test team work, and the other skills that are learned during bootcamp. They do things like dressing wounds, getting a ship underway and firefighting. Thats pretty much it. Its not classified since no one there has a security clearance yet...most just don't remember it or just don't talk about it.

When I was in bootcamp and the RDC's yelled "BATTLESTATIONS!!" It meant come to attention and prepare to get the shit beat out of you. They'd cycle us for hours.

Just to clarify, this was physical exertion, not physically getting the shit beat out of you. All of the firefighting drills and whatnot were done during the day :dunno

Maybe I'm dating myself here...it HAS been 10 years :giggle I'm sure things have changed...but thanks for that trip down memory lane :lol

When we were stationed there the CO of the base at the time had a "family day" and they had some of the recruits demonstrating what Battlestations was. I thought it was really cool. It's a 24-48 timeframe that usually starts in the wee hours of the morning of nothing but drills (as someone else said) It'd kind of a hands on testing to see if they can actually do everything they've learned over the weeks being there.

I lived at these websites when DH was in bootcamp. Helped tons knowing what he was doing every week and helped the time go faster. Enjoy! :)

They put them through hell. The only way I know how to describe it is that they take all their training in bootcamp and turn it into a night of hell. DH was an instructure while on hold pushing.

I went through Battle Stations and from what I know it hasn't changed. Most of the ladies have it right on the dot. You run EVERYWHERE! You stay up for nearly over 24 hours and go through a series of "tests". Whether you pass or fail is part of whether you pass in review. They aren't hard ;) The worst is running with a seabag full of wet swim suits, but you get to pass it off between your group. Also, it goes over stuff they've trained you on so it's not like you are going in unprepared. It really was fun but if someone is a troublemaker, the RDC's make it a bit harder. Luckily, I wasn't in the "troublemaker" group. :D

ok, well my X told me about battlestations when he was in bootcamp.. He said he had to stay up for a long time and do tons of really hard drills that they had learned. Part of it was going into some room with a gas mask on and doing a ton of stuff and being able to get through it all. Apparently it was super hard... That's all I really remember
