Stupid Tricare is not open :banghead

Timmy is enrolled in tricare under Trav.

Now that he is back in IA, I need to him an appointment for his kindergarten registration. Does he NEED to have a paper tricare card? Asshat called me this morning saying that the local dr's office won't accept Timmy's Military ID as proof of insurance and won't call and verify that he is covered.

I don't understand why they can't just call and verify. I have never in 7 yrs of being under tricare have a paper card for proof of insurance. I have always used my military id.

So what do I do? Just call this dr's office and tell them to stop being lazy pickup the phone and verify or do I have to call Tricare and request a proof of insurance sent to asshat?

Some places are getting more strict with the papercard. I would call the office and let them know they can use the ID for now until he gets a new crad reissued. Or try the tricare website. I know on untied concordia's site I can actually print out my dental cards so maybe you can print your tricare cards too? I dunno

G'luck. If all else fails call tricare and have them call the Dr office. Sometimes they will do that too

DD and I have paper Tricare cards... she has one for united concordia too, but I don't... what sucks is Tricare's different in every region, I never had a paper card when we were in Groton..

I don't see why they don't just call Tricare and verify his coverage! I hope it gets all worked out soon...

I had no idea you could print out your UC cards online! Very cool, I need to do that since I really should buckle down and go to the dentist!

I have never had paper cards. And my civi dr's here in Great Lakes always just take my ID. Interesting.

In PA I never had to show a paper card and we were civilian there. Now that we go to a civilian here, we have to show both.

Well final Tricare answer... He doesn't need a paper card. Some request it but it's not neccessary they can call tricare and verify.

BUT I do get to do the lovely PCM form changes since he's on the borderline of North and West. :rolleyes
