So df and i just got engaged and he went to a school on monday and we planned on getting married when he finished feb 22 and i was just wondering after i finish school in april would i be able to move with him even if i am not in his orders? BEcause he will get his orders before leaving a school and we wont be married yet...so i was just wondering how that works. I dont even finish school till april but we just want to know how that works? Like can they re do his orders after we get married or do you have to wait?? thanks yall

if you arent on his orders, the navy wont pay to get you or your stuff there. once he has reported there is no changing the orders unless he goes overseas, then they can change those to accompanied. but unless you get married before he gets his orders, you guys have to foot the moving bill.

omg! that sucks. But would i be able to live on base and all with him since we would be married?

yes, once he gets you on his page 2 you can apply for base housing.
I live with my df for half of the week, but he lives off base - I dont know about living on base. Plus, he doesn't get any monitary benefits until we're married.

You can live on base with him when you are married only if they have housing available for your df's rank...and you have to apply for it...

as far as getting some money back for you moving it can happen once you are married.... dh and I got married while he was on leave from A school now while they wouldn't give him any money for me to move any stuff up there, once I was up there he did get remburised for my ticket..

I can understand that and to elaborate on this topic, df and i will be getting married in december 2007 but he will be out of school in december 2006. i don't know how that's going to work out. we are hoping for VA and i know the waiting list for housing is really long so we will live off-base. we will be living off base (hopefully) so will that make things easier or not? can anyone help me....
