Hey there! Got a quick question. My son and I will be there visiting family for 7 weeks. I just wanted to know if the Tricare Outpatient Clinic in Chula Vista gives immunization shots? My son will turn 1 during our visit and so he needs to be seen for a well-baby checkup, as well as his vaccines. Thanks a bunch!!! :) This is my very first time dealing with medical outside our homeport...LOL!

I would call tri care and ask.You dont want to be charged for not seeing your PCM.
You need have your PCM call tricare to give them authorization to go and see another doctor outside your PCM. It is a PITA now days!

Well I called Tricare and they said I didn't need a referral for my son's well-baby check-up. So I was just wanting to know if the facility in Chula Vista does the same as if I were to go to the Pediatric Clinic at Balboa.

yes, good luck getting that taken care of:goodvibes
also something to think about -- you dont' have to have it done @ exactly 12 months, so if you prefer your regular doctor, i'm sure the shots can wait until you get home :)

that is what i did. they only way from what i was told, is if you change your tricare region to here, then you can get them done. i would just wait till you get back home.
