Do you wear your seatbelt?

RockstarMom
08-13-2006, 11:09 PM
Yes! I am a big P.I.T.A about it too! I will not move the car until everyone is buckled. I just got used to it in PA because it's the law there and if you get pulled over you(the driver) get fined for every person NOT wearing a seatbelt.

me too, In Hawaii the guards would stop you going in and out the gate if they saw someone not wearing it. It became big time habit. In texas, if you were over 18 and in the back seat you didnt have to wear one so I wasnt used to that rule.

YEP!! All the time. I have been in 2 major accidents in CA and if I didn't have my seatbelt on in either of them I know I would not be here today. I think my seatbealt has saved my life more than once.

well, i dont in the back, if my mom or dad is driving, the law is, i dont have to.

i do most of the time when i am driving, and im going to be honest, i know it is the law in my state that i HAVE to, but sometimes in an accident you are better off w/o the belt.

I always wear my seat belt and I always make sure everyone who is in my car wears theirs too whether they are 18 and over or not. I used to drive really slow then slam on my brakes when I had friends in the back... then I would say that whoever banged into my seat is not buckled up and they better do it now. :giggle After that they always buckled up when in the car with me. Even when I wasnt the driver I would always insist that they wore their seatbelts and bug em till they did hehe. Better safe then sorry... and yes I know that sometimes being without a seat belt can be better but you never know so I would rather everyone have em on.

All of the time- no matter what. I also won't put the baby in the car without a car seat- no exceptions (and I have gotten s**t for that before)

I feel "naked" w/o my seatbelt on. It makes me feel strange when I back the car out of the garage w/o the seatbelt on. Therefore I always have my seatbelt on.

I won't EVER put my child in a car without one. I can't believe anyone is going to say something to you about that.

Seatbelts can be your link between living or dying. I am a FIRM believer it saved my life in both of my accidents. ALso, both of those accidents were caused by others not paying attention (running a red light and trying to pass a vehicle without looking who was there). I think a seatbelt not helping you is so slim. I bet 99.9% of the time the seatbelt will help you.

I wear my seatbelt everytime I get in the car...any car...front or back. I have to set the example, so I might as well set the right one ;)

ETA: Oh, and HELL NO, I wouldn't put the baby in without the car seat either...and anyone that gives you shit about that should be shot.

actually, the law in texas changed awhile back. it's front & back seats. every age. there's even a "click it or ticket" campaign. so texas ladies buckle up!:D

I've worn my seatbelt for as long as I've been driving. Well, except for one time. When I saw the cop on side the road, I realized that it was off. I didn't clip it though, and got a $25 ticket.

I ALWAYS wear my sealtbelt. I was in a pretty bad accident back in 01 (I was hit head on) and lemme tell ya. If I hadn;t had my seatbelt on I would gone straight thru my windshield more then likely. Rod hardly ever wore his seatbelt and after my accident I had a long talk with him and now he wears his always too. It truly did save me from having even worse injuries then I did

I ALWAYS wear my seatbelt. It's a reflex now, get in sit down put on seatbelt. The boys never go anywhere unless they are in a car seat. Although I will admit there have been a couple of times that between loading purchases, stroller and 3 kids in the car, I have forgotten to buckle in my oldest (he gets in the car by himself and is pretty self sufficent). He throws a fit everytime I put the car into drive and he's not properly buckled. So I'm certain he'll always wear one too.:giggle

I am really crazy when it comes to wearing seatbelts just because my dad is a retired cop and he was always on us when we were younger.

Oklahoma=curvy roads. My dad's a pastor and I'll never forget the day he did 3 funerals at once. Car accident. No alcohol involved. Just slippery roads and low visibility. Went off the road and all of them got thrown. That was when I was 13 and I've never forgot it. So yes, always. And I for SURE am getting my boyfriend in the habit too!
