View Full Version : Cramping during pregnancy?
achicnsocal 08-19-2006, 02:23 PM I know that some cramping is completley normal but I woke up this morning from my nap and since then it's been a little bad ... not doubling over pain but definitly an annoyance .... I think my question is how bad is TOO bad ??
I'm going to drive you guys crazy with this pregnancy you know that don't you ?? :D
HEIDI 08-19-2006, 02:26 PM Be careful Becky... What kind of cramping and where?
JudyB 08-19-2006, 02:27 PM Out of 2 pregnancies I only ever had cramping once...it ended up being just a muscle pull..but I was always taught to get any kind of cramping checked...ya know, better safe than sorry!;)
Make sure you take it easy...k
Kaymara 08-19-2006, 02:31 PM With both pregnancies I had cramping like period cramping early on. As long as it isnt on 1 side, you arent double over with pain and there is no bleeding then it should be fine. Your organs are moving up and outta the way, your uterus is expanding etc :D
Kaymara 08-19-2006, 02:36 PM Bloating, cramps and backache. Many women experience bloating, mild cramping and slight backache as pre-menstrual physical signs or symptoms. As the uterus grows, these sensations may also be associated with early pregnancy. Many women worry when they feel mild cramping, tugging and pulling in the early weeks.. If there is no bleeding associated with it, then it is probably normal.
NOTE: If you have strong or severe cramping or pain, you should contact your local doctor (or pregnancy caregiver) for guidance and advice.

Debra 08-19-2006, 02:58 PM Like Judy, I was always told it is best to get any cramping checked out!
Not to scare you but all of my miscarriages started out with cramping. Nothing too painful just more annoying. Within a couple of days, the back pain started followed by the spotting.
If you feel there is a concern, then I'd definately get seen.
:hugs
achicnsocal 08-19-2006, 03:00 PM At first it was on one side but that was more like an ache .. not an actual cramp and it was up higher in my stomach ... not it's just mild cramping in my abdomen .. nothing too bad though ... Oh man I'm going to worry myself to death during this pregnancy :worried
achicnsocal 08-19-2006, 03:00 PM double post
JudyB 08-19-2006, 03:07 PM :hugs ...it's very hard not to worry...but do your best to try!! Just remember that you have all of us ladies on here and also there in Cali if you need anything!!
yep becky it could be your uterus just starting to expand more and its probably pushing on other organs too since you said its more of an ache than a cramp.
achicnsocal 08-19-2006, 03:28 PM If it gets any worse I'm going to go in ...:worried I guess it's definitly better to be safe than sorry .... :pray
froglove 08-19-2006, 03:36 PM I had mild cramping alot when I was preggo with Jacob but it was all normal. its due to your uterus growing and what not. Have the same cramping now. Sometimes its dull, sometimes its like a period cramp. It just varies. As long as its not a severe cramp with spotting and bleeding you are ok.
REMEMBER WE ARE GOING TO DO THIS TOGETHER. I AM YOUR PREGGO BUDDY!
how are you feeling, becky?
Angie 08-20-2006, 02:47 AM I hope you are feeling better
footstepswife 08-20-2006, 03:00 AM :hugs sweetie--how high up--maybe it is gas stuck
achicnsocal 08-20-2006, 04:31 AM I'm actually feeling better but it's still tender and sore near my ribs on both sides .. more so on my left side but tender on both ... :sick Thanks for all the advice and help though ... :hugs
CMPCAP 08-20-2006, 10:39 AM I was very crampy the first aobut 2 months of mine. It was making me crazy. It really just felt like AF was right around the corner. I hope everything is going okay.
I cramped like crazy during the begining of both pregnancies. The docs always told me it was just stretching and such. However, like all the ladies are saying it is better safe than sorry. If it is too alarming make an appointment and get it checked out. There is no point in you worrying about it because that's not good for you or the baby. I hope they go away for you. :)
is it more of a "crampy" feeling or more like muscle soreness or ligament stretching?
You know I'm here for ya :hugs Hell, I called you at 11:30 last night to see if you were ok :lmao
achicnsocal 08-20-2006, 03:06 PM is it more of a "crampy" feeling or more like muscle soreness or ligament stretching?
It's more of a "tender" feeling on both my sides in the upper part of my stomach .... And it hurts in my upper back ... I've been dealing with constipation ( TMI I know :blush ) and I think maybe that has something to do with it .. :dunno I have an appt. this week to get my blood work done and went over again, so I'm going to talk to her about it ... thanks for all the advice!!
And Rach, I was going to call you yesterday but I didn't want to bother you guys .. I'm going to drive you ladies crazy that have already had kids :giggle
