View Full Version : If You Had To Give Up One Of Your Five Senses, Which Would It Be? sgmwife1 08-20-2006, 01:18 PM Which would you give up? Touch Sight Hearing Smell Taste RockstarMom 08-22-2006, 07:34 PM I'll have to think on this one.... it's a hard one! MW5M 08-22-2006, 07:39 PM I couldnt pick one... it would just have to happen.... CoffeeGirl 08-22-2006, 07:40 PM Its forever right??? If thats the case, I chose smell-cause even if I couldn't smell I could feel, touch, taste & see Mommy2Bailey 08-22-2006, 07:52 PM I chose smell cause there is some stuff that goes on in this house with 3 guys that I just dont wanna smell............:sick cassiekist 08-22-2006, 07:53 PM my taste...i could live with out that BLBnJVB3 08-22-2006, 08:08 PM If I had to it would be smell. I couldn't imagine not seeing my kids grow up or my husband, not being able to touch them and feel it, not being able to hear them, or taste my food (I like my food way too much to give up being able to taste it). Veronica 08-22-2006, 08:09 PM I chose taste...I couldnt live if I couldnt see or hear my baby girl, or touch her hair or smell her hair...I couldnt stand to not be able to smell her baby girl smell or her sweet breath, or my dh's colonge...taste, I could lose that...then maybe I'd lose weight too! j/k Ellen 08-22-2006, 08:12 PM Smell Ste9 08-22-2006, 08:21 PM Taste. I could love without it but the others would be hard to lose. Heather 08-22-2006, 08:23 PM taste. Everything else would be too hard to deal with missinghim 08-22-2006, 08:25 PM I chose taste because then I could eat yucky spinach and veggies all day and be skinny forever :giggle ...also if you can't smell then most of your taste senses are gone too...that's one of the reason why you can't taste much when you have a cold...oh what we learn in anatomy :teehee Danielle 08-22-2006, 08:28 PM I would have to say taste. Erika 08-22-2006, 08:45 PM Smell. Heck, I can't smell half the time anyway with allergies, so it wouldn't be much different, lol. sunshyne 08-22-2006, 08:55 PM I chose smell Shannon* 08-22-2006, 09:23 PM It would be taste. The Ultimate Diet! Ha-ha.... Krisha 08-22-2006, 09:30 PM Taste. Victoria 08-22-2006, 10:14 PM I defintely would not give up taste because I already know what my dad's going through with his taste buds being temporarily disabled because of radiation treatments due to lung cancer. He keeps telling me how food just doesn't taste the same. :( I would give up my own touch because all the other senses are just too important to me. I want to be able to hear my son and hubby talking to me. I want to hear their voices. I want to see them day in and day out. ETA: Me giving up smell would affect my taste as well. Therefore I wouldn't choose smell...LOL!!! lovingnavywife 08-25-2006, 08:16 AM I would have to give up taste even though I love eatting and drinking. The rest of my sences I would really need. I love hearing my children playing and would miss that if i wouldnt hear them, I love to see my loved ones and would go crazy if I couldnt, I love to be able to feel the hugs and kisses that I recieve daily and miss them very much, I love the smell of things cooking and fresh flowers and the smell of clean children. But i could do without me smell and taste if I had to I guess. Since I go without them when my allergies kick in anyway. instant_oatmeal 08-25-2006, 08:47 PM I guess losing smell would suck the least out of all of them. :shrug Amber V 08-25-2006, 09:08 PM Smell allypowell 08-25-2006, 09:13 PM thats what i was thinking! :D I chose taste...I couldnt live if I couldnt see or hear my baby girl, or touch her hair or smell her hair...I couldnt stand to not be able to smell her baby girl smell or her sweet breath, or my dh's colonge...taste, I could lose that...then maybe I'd lose weight too! j/k Donna 08-26-2006, 02:02 AM If I had to it would be smell. I couldn't imagine not seeing my kids grow up or my husband, not being able to touch them and feel it, not being able to hear them, or taste my food (I like my food way too much to give up being able to taste it). :yes breauxfam 08-31-2006, 10:15 AM I would have to chose taste, cause I couldnt bare not seeing my son, not being able to hold him and feel my husbands touch, I couldnt bare not being able to smell his hair, I wouldnt be able to stand not hearing his laugh. so I would have to go with taste.. Hugs and Kisses Nikki MichelleB 08-31-2006, 10:25 AM Well, smell and taste kind of go hand in hand. If you loose one then you loose the other. And I wouldn't want to loose either. Probably my hearing. I know ASL, so it wouldn't be a huge change. SezzySue 09-11-2006, 12:47 AM For me, This one is SO easy to answer. If I could lose taste, I would be happy. It would make losing weight SO easy for me. Taste is what keeps me eating, regardless of hunger.:confused :vent SIMMYBABEZ 09-11-2006, 12:48 AM TASTE!!!!!!!! i could lose some weight that way! Becca 09-11-2006, 06:03 AM I'd give up taste in a heartbeat. Then I wouldn't like food so much :giggle NavyChiefs_Wife 09-11-2006, 08:45 AM that's tough but i would say smell. Cherrish 09-11-2006, 11:35 PM Smell Brooke 09-11-2006, 11:37 PM I voted smell because I can't usually smell anyways. :( breakaley 09-13-2006, 04:33 PM I voted hearing cause I can sign. I don't know though really. Armylove 09-13-2006, 04:42 PM I think I could without smelling. That way I cant smell when DF farts iLuvKev 09-13-2006, 05:12 PM maybe if i couldnt taste things i wouldnt have sugar fixes! lol i love smelling him, touching him, holding him, seeing him(even tho i dont now), and his voice soothes me! lol i can go w/out tasting him ummm yea...... harrisonsdream 09-21-2006, 08:58 AM its actually proven that chemical signals are more important to your daily functioning then sight, and hearing are. sailorsgurl88 11-29-2006, 04:50 PM Smell...i can hardly smell anywayz :lol VinnysGirl 11-29-2006, 10:40 PM I said taste... LOL rockchalkmeg 12-04-2006, 04:50 PM I cant help but wonder what it would be like to be eating something and not taste it? I guess it would make things easier when trying to decide what to eat ILVMYMR 12-04-2006, 06:41 PM I chose smell...although I was on the fence between that and taste, because maybe I wouldn't eat so much if I couldn't taste it :giggle HollySunshine 12-04-2006, 06:44 PM I totally said hearing. Since I know what its like I can live without it and learn sign language! defying_gravity 12-04-2006, 08:27 PM i chose sight, because even without sight i could still, taste wonderful food smell the world after the first rain of spring hear music, and the voices of the people i love and most of all touch- i would still be able to hold DB's hand, cradle a newborn baby, pet my animals. Jessi 12-04-2006, 09:46 PM I'm glad i'm not the only one who would give up taste, i mean dnt get me wrong i'm a food addict so it would suck, but i mean tasting things isnt how i get around daily so yah it'd have to go for me lol:P Kelsey 12-04-2006, 09:58 PM I don't think I could give up smell, because that would also make most of my taste go away as well....I guess I'll go with touch. ~Crystal~ 12-05-2006, 01:48 PM Smell.....cause at least I could still enjoy the others!!! Plus..there have been times when I wish I couldn't smell!! LOL!!! AmericanGuy 12-21-2006, 01:17 AM i am going with that 6th sense that they haven't found yet. |
