Can anyone tell me the difference between a med cruise and the "regular" ones? My husband has deployed two times, but this will be his first MED cruise, so what is it? He said that his ship will hit a ton of ports, over 20!!!!!!!!:shock

I have no idea but since no one answered yet I'm going to guess and see if I'm right :giggle I guess it goes into the Mediterranean :thinking

We've always been on the west coast, which of course is "westpac" country. BUT...I know that a med cruise is (yes) the mediterranean. I am confused when you refer to a "regular" cruise. I thought that Westpac's and Med cruises were considered "regular" cruises depending on your coast :dunno Are you talking about work ups? When they'll go out for a month or two at a time? As far as 6-monthers, I've only ever heard of a westpac, a med cruise, and a world cruise.

I guess I'm a little lost.

We've done a Med cruise and the Westpac is going up next...I know in the Med, they didnt hit alot of ports but rumor is the westpac is going to hit lots of ports...

I know where it's at, sorry I should have been more specific. I just want to know what they are going to do...

yup, we have done 2 med, 1 cd ops, 2 what were called "uhaul" crusies (Iraq and back) and med cruise is a few weeks away.

when DH did his 2 med cruises. yea, they were "vacation" cruises too. They hit a lot of ports!! port visits mostly depends on the size of the ship. the bigger ones dont usually hit a lot of ports like the destroyers and cruisers do. word is, even though DH will be on an amphib, they will be hitting quite a few ports as well. WOO HOO!!!! gifts for me:teehee :yahoo
