Burning Mouse Ignites Blaze That Destroys Home

FORT SUMNER, N.M. -- The village fire captain said he's never seen a blaze as unique as this.

A Fort Sumner, N.M., man said he caught a mouse inside his house and wanted to get rid of it. He had a pile of leaves burning outside, so he threw the mouse on it. The mouse caught fire and ran back into the house.

Luciano Mares, 81, talked about the event Saturday from a motel room. The blaze the mouse started destroyed the home and everything inside it.

I feel bad for the guy for loosing everything, but the mouse got his revenge.

Sorry I don't feel bad for the guy, that is just plain cruelty to a small creature. It might not have been so bad if he had given the mouse an instant and painless death, but to burn the poor creature alive was just wrong. I agree, Karma bit him in the ass and HE DESERVED IT!

no one deserves to have their house destroyed but yeah at least he got something back for trying to burn a mouse

lesson learned..don't mess with the mouse..

Cruelty to animals, Karma got him back. I'm sorry for his family since they have nothing now, but yeah, he could have found a better, more humane way to rid himself of the poor mouse.

my dad read this story to me today. i say that's what you get for trying to kill an animal in an inhumane way.
