View Full Version : Former POW Jessica Lynch Expecting Baby ~Jess~ 08-24-2006, 06:44 PM http://articles.news.aol.com/news/_a/former-pow-jessica-lynch-expecting-baby/20060824102809990004?ncid=NWS00010000000001 Caimbrie 08-24-2006, 08:23 PM That's great for her. I honestly don't see why that makes news. She's not the only person who endured what she did there and I don't understand why her alone is glorified as a hero when there are many more like her. Don't get me wrong I feel for what she went through, she is just being singled out and there are many more like her. Amber V 08-24-2006, 08:24 PM That's great for her. Lets remember that the media chose to single her out from everyone else that went through the same thing as she did. That is why I believe the media is evil! Good for her though on her little blessing! Caimbrie 08-24-2006, 08:29 PM Lets remember that the media chose to single her out from everyone else that went through the same thing as she did. That is why I believe the media is evil! Good for her though on her little blessing! She was singled out by the media to put a bad light on the war because they wanted to show how this sweet little 19 year old girl was hurt over there. Like i said She deserves a lot of respect but her being recognized above all the others who have been seriously injured and died bugs me. I agree.. I don't like the media.. they like to portray things a certain way, which more often than not is not how it truely is. Because the public is way over Tom Cruise and Katie Holmes! j/k!!! LMAO!!! REVELATI0N 08-24-2006, 10:11 PM I honestly don't see why that makes news. I have AOL and I saw that earlier this evening via AOL news and I thought the exact same thing. harrisonsdream 08-25-2006, 08:17 AM the public cares because of the same reason we care about brad pitt, tom cruise, angelina jolie, and all the other celebrities.....they aren't us. they have the ability to have a camera follow them. their lives are sensational. congratulations for her little bun in the oven (its my fav. euphamism) but many many other people were over that suffere at the same time and many many other people are suffering now over there REVELATI0N 08-25-2006, 11:33 AM the public cares because of the same reason we care about brad pitt, tom cruise, angelina jolie, and all the other celebrities..... I wouldn't go as far as putting Jessica Lynch in the celebrity category but that's just my opinion. Maria406 08-25-2006, 11:36 AM I don't see how that made it into the paper... But that's great for her. I'm glad she's doing so well and able to have a baby after all of that. she must be really happy missinghim 08-25-2006, 11:37 AM I honestly don't see why that makes news. I agree...if she were male and older she would have been just another soldier :no Caimbrie 08-25-2006, 11:41 AM I agree...if she were male and older she would have been just another soldier :no Shit if she was just male.. there are tons of 19 year old kids out there who's been through what she went through and more and they are JUST another casualty... just another soldier. missinghim 08-25-2006, 11:44 AM Shit if she was just male.. Very true...ya know, I read something bad about her one time and now for the life of me I can't remember what it was...does anyone remember any 'bad' media about her? :shrug Becca 08-25-2006, 12:03 PM And this is news because....... :dunno Potatocup 08-25-2006, 01:30 PM Good for her....but why should the public care??? :yes of course, i also don't care when angelina jolie had her baby, or any britney spears news, etc, etc... harrisonsdream 08-25-2006, 08:47 PM we are all talking about the article so it achieved its purpose |
