Where did you get your parenting from? Books? your and dhs parents? Did/do you agree with the way parents raised you and dh?

Our kids are raised the way DH and I were raised. We tweeked some things, but for the most part, it's the same

We are doing everything we can to raise our children differently then we were raised.

I suppose I got my style from.. myself. I am not raising my children like I was raised.. I don't want to mentally and physically abbuse my kids... I think books are a crock honestly.

My parenting choices are by instinct! I too knew I did not want to parent my children the way we were.

I'm not a parent yet but I think most likely I would be doing a lot of the things my mom did but a little differently with certain things. I do not want to raise my kids at all like my DH was raised. I dont think he sees anything wrong with his parents but after seeing his dad mentally abuse his lil brother I do not like him at all and will not raise my kids like that. If DH acts like his dad at all he will have major problems with me. :club :giggle

I like the ways DF and I were raised, we would raise our children more like his parents raised him though.

Mainly from my parents and what feels right. I do most of it by instinct and it ends up being very similar to how my parents raised me.

Definitely different from how we were raised. We get it from ourselves, but I am open to ideas from different people (just not family!).

We do most of our parenting by instinct. I do use info from books and that's how I got Ethan to sleep through the night. WOOHOO!!! lol!
