:no Such a sad story!!
http://articles.news.aol.com/news/_a/teen-shot-in-head-at-haunted-house/20060824130509990005?ncid=NWS00010000000001
That is sad but I think what is even more sad is the fact that he took it into his own hands and thinks he was in the right too be shooting the gun at the car in the first place. That is what we have police for moron!

:( It is sad that he thought he'd control the situation by shooting a gun instead of calling the police, putting up signs or just talking to the teens instead.

Bloody hell! Thats horrible! And did you see his hair?!! Man.. he should have been alot more careful. What i don't understand is- why he would have a loaded gun. He could have fired blanks and it would scare kids just as much if not more.. and it wouldn't have hurt anyone. Well thankfully shes alive..and going ok right now.
I don't agree with the fact that he shot at anyone, or anything, but I can see his frustration. I do agree with him that the trespassers were breaking the law. While he should be charged with something (whether it be attempted homicide, negligent homicide, negligent assult or whatever) for shooting, in all fairness the teens should also be charged for the crime they commited. :dunno and I dont think it matters what he looks like, how bad a haircut he has or anything else... 2 crimes were commited.

Well his hair was pretty bad. But that wasn't my point. He could have been firing blanks. And it would of scared them just the same. And i thought i read they were on the footpath, cos they just got out of the car. I didn't think footpathes were the house owners property.
Three of the girls had gotten out of the car and taken a few steps onto Davis' property, but then jumped back in and circled the block.
It also said there were 5 girls in the car.. so 2 didnt get out and commit any crime, but 3 of them did.
No it doesnt lessen what he did, and Im not making light of it, just stating... more than one crime was commited.

It mentions that local teens came onto his property, rang his doorbell and ran all the time. He probably was incredibly frustrated and tired of being bothered. That of course doesn't excuse him for shooting a gun at someone but he was being harassed.

indeed thats true. but yeah- he could have contacted the police or something. he took the law into his own hands and yeah- he has to pay for that. the girls should atleast get a warning for trespassing but because he shot the gun, he should ofcourse get more of a charge.

The most he can be charged with is Attempted Manslaughter (2nd Degree, First Degree if the it can be proven he wasn't aiming at the tires). It's a common story where I'm from, but we were normally shot with rock salt. I would say I can feel his frustration, but I won't. If I were even CLOSE to shooting someone out of frustration, I would have called the police at least twice prior to that night. He never did, but he DID go out and buy a rifle. If I were the state, I'd push for Attempted Manslaughter 1 on those facts alone.
