I have never attempted the sling so I was curious about how it functions... The whole breastfeeding while walking I can do... but then I still dont have more then one free hand... sometimes no hands... Does the sling make it easier to use your hands... I am thinking that would help me out a lot if I can still use my hands and do the normal day to day tasks with my other children... get them ready for school and such while nursing my son... Thanks for any insight

ETA: also what type of sling did you use.. I am looking at them and there are some different ones to choose from.

it was easier when we were out and about. i would walk around and no one even notice that i was feeding!!! it also helped when it was bedtime. would walk around and bf at the same time put him out like a light!

yeah that is what I will need.. Which kind do you use? I have looked into the Native carrier.. but it doesnt tighten.. and then the maya wrap which I have heard good things about.. I am thinking the one with the ring tightener thingy.. I will have to back track my search to find out its name.. lol

I used a Maya wrap and could nurse hands free. I had a Maya pouch but I didn't care for it. Might be better now that she's older, maybe I will have to find it and see!

I like the Maya Wrap because it's not padded. I had several padded slings but the padding got in the way. I could use the tail to cover her up. I could take it apart and use it as a blanket, a leash and a belt in the cart-it's very versatile! It also comes with a video on how to use it.
