Isn't great how we moms spends ALLL our time with them, we carry them, we go through childbirth with them and then they say "dada" first?? Got to love the irony in that :D

LOL my oldest sons first word was dada too. i feel your pain Trey. I cant remember what my middle sons first word was but that might have been dada too and i know Robbies first word was also dada. i think its just easier for them to make the D sound than the M sound. but it still would be nice if they would say mama first just cause we see them more.

:lmao It's purely because it's easier to say. My nephew started saying dada first... now that he's talking he says he prefers fries to daddy! :P

:lol heartbreaking isn't it?

My dd only said "mama" first because Jess was literally always gone (thank you 9/11 terrorists) JD said "dada" first and I am trying to brain wash Sarah to say "mama" :giggle

Congrats on his first word. Oh and when he learns to say "mama" there is a tendency to say it over and over because it is a new word that gets lots of attention and approval :wink

:yahoo for first word!!! but :tears for dadda :lmao

My thoughts exactly! :lol I was even so pathetic as to hope that he said "baba" first just so it wouldn't be "dada" over "mama"! :lol But that's okay, Ryan is so proud and has been bragging all day, so I guess it's okay. :pout

LOL, sorry there mama. But after he learns how to say it, he's gonna wear it out. This is when you tell Ryan that because Riley says dada, that dada has to take care of him ALLLL the time. :D

:hehe Madison actually said mama first but not Hayden of course. He usually only says mama now when he wants my attention or he's upset about something.

if it makes you feel better Bray said "Da-Da' first but I don't count it. I still think he just babbles it (and Ma Ma) w/o really knowing what it means. He says Bye Bye (ok so it sounds more like Baah Baah) and waves his hand. I says that is his first word. :teehee

My son has a big vocabulary. his first word was dadda, then pappa, hey, then mamma, boo, bub (we call him that, and the dog.) and he just learned to say bye... but he had a few words before he said mamma.. And I stay home with him also.. I have never been away from him, I take that back I went to an adult passion party for 2 hrs the other day. that was the first time I have ever been away from him, but my husband was their with him.lol..

THE SAME THING happened to me when my son started talking....and I was like....what? I change all the dirty poos and I let you eat from my ta-tas and you gotta go and say that? But, it is easier...my son still cant say the m sound and calls me "boddy or buddy" weirdo.
