Karr won't be charged over JonBenet - TV
Reuters - 29 minutes ago

BOULDER, Colo. - Colorado prosecutors won't charge schoolteacher John Mark Karr with the murder of 6-year-old JonBenet Ramsey after tests showed his DNA does not match DNA found in her underwear, two local TV stations reported on Monday. Denver's KUSA and KCBS both cited unnamed sources close to the investigation in the reports, which came just hours before Karr, 41, was due for his first Colorado court appearance.

I don't think he was involved in ANY way. Just another psycho who has read WAY too much info on the case and got some sort of sick twisted high from placing himself there. Sick bastard!!!!

Didn't his ex-wife say he was with her the night that she died anyway? I think he still needs treatment if nothing else!

I think he's twisted but don't think he did it. I think he gets some sort of thrill out of the attention he got talking about "how he did it" I think he just studied the case too much. Let's face it...DNA is the determining factor...I hope they find the REAL killer soon :(

Thats what I thought. We'rent they in a different city all together at the time? The man does have some serious issues that need to be dealt with though

I didnt think he did it, but it doesnt change that there is something wrong upstairs and he DOES need help. Wasnt he arrested for something in Thailand? Better to be brought to the US on this and be released, than to be in jail and convicted of something in Thailand... thats what I think he thought. I believe the charge over there was a sex crime of some sort... let me dig to see if I can find an old link.

This whole case is just aweful and sad. That poor baby should be talking to her parents about driving and going to school dances. Instead some sicko ruined her whole families life. :no

Wasn't he charged with child pornography years ago? I didn't think he killed this girl but he definitley needs some kind of mental help. He is just not right on his mind.

He's facing 5 counts of child pornography in CA. That's what NBC Nightly News said.

http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/14553130/

Karr cleared in JonBenet Ramsey case
"DNA of suspect in murder no match, but he faces child porn charges in California."

"Karr, 41, will be held in custody by the Boulder County sheriff's office pending extradition to Sonoma County, Calif., to face child pornography charges dating to 2001. "

I agree. I REALLY had my doubts about him. I mean come on. WHY admit you did something of that magnitude 10 years after the fact? And WHY now? It just didnt add up to me. I dont doubt he is sick. But I did doubt he did it

Exactly! Even his ex-wife said that he was with her in Alabama when that happened and the fact that he said that he picked her up from school (during Christmas break), said he sexually assaulted her (the autopsy showed no signs of sexual abuse) and that she had died accidently (I don't know how you accidently kill a child after she's been beaten and strangled) TOTALLY made me think he was just some crazy person that had read WAY too much stuff about the case and in some twisted way, began to actually believe that he had had something to do with it. His ex wife said that he started obsessing over her case and his email was the date of her death. I was confused because the DA said that she wouldn't have gone through all the trouble of going all the way to Thailand if she didn't think she had a solid case against him. She said that he knew some things about the case that were never revealed to the public so I am curious as to what he knew that no one else knew. They did say that he was rambling on and on in emails about certain girls in Thailand and they were afraid that he may try to hurt them so at least he was stopped from doing that.

His ex wife said that he started obsessing over her case

Let's not forget he did the same for Polly Klaas.

The young girl who was abducted from her California home and slain in 1993

I knew he wasn't the one. What I fail to get is why in the hell freaks like him confess to crimes they did not commit. Weird!!!!

well, there was some evidence that she was sexually assaulted but not a lot

I don't think he killed her. I think that he admitted to the crime for the attention.

From what I've read (I'd link it but I can't seem to find where I read it from now :shrug ) he has been writing a book about her death. It's believed that he may, at some point, have come in contact with the actual killer which is how he came across evidence that was not leaked to the public. I don't think he did it but I agree with ya'll...he needs to be locked up regardless :no

I think that if he didn't do it but knows who did, then he should come forward with that information instead of just letting him go. I think if he knows certain things about the case that nobody else does, then he should have to explain why he knows that information. Even though I also think that if you're that obsessed with something, you'll find a way to get into private records, even if that means impersonating officials or anything just to get at that private info. I'm still curious as to what will happen.

It's just so sad that they have botched this case so much that a killer might never be found. Then of course there are nutt jobs out there like Karr who will lie for attention about something like this.
