In light of todays events, I'm pretty much drained. So what on earth do we debate about now? Oooo, I know. Stupid Debate!

Do you think it would be a good idea to put a giant engine on an iceberg and drive it down to drought areas? I saw this on "Brewster's Millions" and thought it was a pretty good idea.

<for entertainment purposes only. Do not try this at home>

My cousin and I were discussing this a few weeks ago. We both thought overall that while the idea seemed ingenious we thought it would not work over all.

Hey, it's worth a try, what's the worse that could happen, just a bunch of melted ice EVERYWHERE, lol!

I do like the MythBusters idea.. I may submit that to them when I get home tonite! I sincerely doubt anything will come of it, but it's certainly an entertaining thought!

i've always wanted to drive an iceberg...

Yes, they are saltwater.. which would require some affordable means of filtering. Evaporation would work fine, as long as we had a good cheap way of catching the water from an evaporating iceberg... Which sounds just as silly as driving an iceberg, anyway!

I'd want to see some studies on how it would affect the iceberg. I've seen some stuff on the discovery channel about how the ice caps are melting and it's affecting the temp and salt levels of the ocean. It hypothesized that over time it will affect it so much and that's how the ice ages happen.

I don't want human interference to speed up what's a naturally slow process.

I didn't plan on moving miles and miles of ice.. I was thinking a really large glacier, with a mile of ice total. That's a LOT of water. But, you're right.. leaving it up to mankind, this would somehow trigger a disaster.
