I've decided that this Christmas I want to volunteer somewhere .... maybe an orphange, a homeless shelter .... does anyone know where I would get started ...??

I volunteer all the time down at our hospital, its really nice, and I actually look forword to going down there. I get to hold the new babies :0) and also read to the kids that are there.. It makes me feel really good

If you are specifically wanting to do volunteer work with kids, Id try Children's hospital, or the Salvation Army. They have the Ray and Joan Kroc center in San Diego, and they always have a HUGE Christmas Party and need tons of volunteers.

We used to donate money to "The San Diego Rescue Mission" every year. They always invited us to go help out and see exactly what they do, but I never got around to doing it. Here's the website, if you're interested: San Diego Rescue Mission (http://www.sdrescue.org/)

I volunteered at the hospital and oh so much fun! We worked in a 4 hour slot any day we wanted. Then they gave us a meal ticket for $4 to the cafeteria and their cafe had great food.

I was a volunteer at a hosptial when i was in HS...We did it a few hours on the weekend and got free cafe food...
