okay ya'll i know that with planning a wedding comes the risk of last minute changes. here's the deal. df might be out on deployment when our date finally gets here. i don't plan on signing any contracts without having someone who understands all the binding crap there and i've talked to most of the places already if they charge because of military caused last minute rescheduling. i'm going to wait a while before i sign the contracts i mean at least a year and a half. the only thing i have to do soon is book the reception hall and i want my future MIL, grandmother, and df to come with me so that will have to be this summer. so what should i do regarding the changes because of invitations and stuff?:confused
Maybe it's because it's still early where I am, but I'm not quite understanding your post. My wedding's this June but I've decided to leave the planning til April, when I can be sure of the date. Even then, I'll be warning everyone that there might be changes. I'll get the dress earlier, and I'm keeping the catering/photos etc to the family as they'll hopefully be a little more understanding if anything changes. I hope that helps.

yeah i was just trying to get some opinions on what ya'll other girls have done regarding the possible last minute changes regarding planning. i'm going to try and book the reception site early because the wedding is going to be in december and with the christmas party and weddings right around that time it'll be hard to get a date that we want/need.
Yeah, I have that problem too but with it being June, there'll be lots of other weddings. I dont really have a choice though - I know he'll be back around June-July but I have no clue of the date yet. I'm just going to wait til April and hope for the best! I've told my family roughly where and when it'll be and I'll send out invites as soon as I know for sure.

You can work out a contract with the caterer, reception hall, church, minister, photographer, dj, and many other venders you want to use and just add an extra clause that they can't charge you any more for a change of date because of military duty schedules and that you could change the date due to him being unable to make that date... this will allow you to keep the contract with that location or vender without paying extra or losing the deposit all-together and also allow a little flexibility since we all know things can change at any minute! We signed our contract today for our ceremony and reception site and that was a BIG part of our contract. HTH!! YAY!!!
