Hey I'm new here and I just thought I'd introduce myself. I'm Amber. I'm 18 years old and I've been with my boyfriend Joel for 2 and a half years. He's in the Navy, and is still at bootcamp. From there he will go to Texas for A-school, and from there he will either go to Bahrain, Gitmo, or San Diego. He graduates from bootcamp next friday!! So I'm going up to see him! 8 days left! I'm really excited. Anyways, ask me questions or tell me about yourselves. I just really want to find some other military wives & girlfriends who understand what I'm going through and can provide me with advice along the way.

Welcome!!! I had to look at when you posted this cause my hubby is one of the RDC's (drill insructors) up here and his division graduates tomorrow. Congrats on him being almost done!! quick question, how do you know where hes going after A school? My boyfriend is in bootcamp and then Pensacola for A school, but then after that we have no idea where hes going, when did you guys find out?

Welcome! I am prior Active duty Navy, my wife is in the Navy now and we are in WA. The navy life is completely different than what you are used to. There is a definate learning curve for both, the GF/wife or BF/husband. Most likely he will talk to the detailer in A school and then he will get his orders to wherever the Navy wants him to go. Pray he goes to S.D. cause that is a base you can go to. In other words it is an accompanied duty station, unlike Gitmo and Bahrain. If you have any questions do not hesitate to ask, everyone here is very nice.
