Since Taylor isn't 2 yet, we aren't really going to push the issue, but I know she is interested in it, so we bought her a potty this weekend. :D
She has already gone in it twice, so I guess we'll see how things go. :yahoo
Any tips or pointers would be greatly appreciated. I've never done this before so it's going to be interesting! TIA!!!!
be patient LOL. just let her tell you when she needs to go or either try taking her in there every 15 min or so specially after she drinks. also you can try to do a sticker chart if she likes stickers. Several of the ladies on here have told me to do the sticker chart and its a big help. Robbie is now going even without getting stickers. so developing those habits are good ones. we even did a sticker chart for washing hands and brushing teeth.
oh and good luck with it. just give it time and she will do fine.

Invite her to the bathroom everytime you go and see if she wants to try. Also try offering through out the day like before and after bathtime and before sleep times and again at wake up times. Good luck.

Anytime we take his diaper off we take him to the potty. We let him look at a book or magazine. He by any means isnt potty trained but he does go in there alot more then before. He is also praised BIGTIME when he goes. So like last night as soon as he started peeing he clapped hard and screamed cuz he knew he was doing good :)
I dont force the issue yet either. He hasnt shown full signs of being ready. But he has shown a few. If you ask him if he wants to go potty he will run to his chair. He also was peeing in the same spot everytime I took his diaper off so I put the potty there and he'd go
I also bought a potty book we will read to him after he turns 2. Barnes and noble had a ton
G'luck :)
we just bought a potty so he can get use to seeing it. my mom told me that everytime you go, let her sit on her seat also. make sure you always praise even if she does not go. at least she is trying. Have fun!!!:thumbsup

Good luck!!!! We had a potty for about a year or so before Jaxon seemed really ready. We started him on it at around 12 months because he was interested, but he didn't fully train until right before he was 2 1/2. Once he trained, he was fully trained for day and night time though... hasn't had an accident in over a year now :dunno :giggle It can be a long process but it is AWESOME when they finally do train! :woohoo
