did you start taking your child to the dentist? I REALLY am thinking I should take E in. He is almost 2 and has almost all of his teeth

Cam is 2 and I haven't made an appointment for her yet.. I will soon though, since I want to do that while DH is on leave. Her 2 year molars aren't coming in yet, but she got all her teeth kinda late.

I remember going in when i was 5. Yeah it was a dentist that was near my primary school. It was cool- they had pictures of animals all over the walls and i could colour in and stuff. The dentists are pretty good to kids- its just these idiots that fuck up. But there are idiots in every profession i spose.

Well i asked that question the last time i was at the dentist and they told me that the next time i come in to bring Robbie so he can see them work on me and get used to just sitting in the chair and getting use to be comfy. i remember taking my older two boys when they were little and i think they were around 3-4 yrs old i believe. but they went to a pediactric dentist back then. so im just gonna bring Robbie and my hubby with me for my next appt. i think its time he starts seeing one now since he is almost 4.

My dentist said not until 5 but then I called a pediatric dentist and he said 6 months after their first tooth. So I took MacKray in at 10 months old. All they do though is count their teeth and try to get them comfortable with being there and in the chair. They said they wouldn't start doing cleanings and stuff until 3ish. With Bradley I'll probably wait until 2 1/2ish.

I took Noah in when he was 2 1/2. I waited a bit too long for Emily. She was 4.

My pedi said between 2 and 3.. I took Alex when he was 3 but he wouldn't let them clean his teeth. I need to take him again here soon.

I just took Briana...she's almost 5 and she didn't want anything to do with him! She was terrified but she did allow them to look in and see if there were any obvious problems and they said no cavities and her teeth looked great so she doesn't need to come back until she's 6. She just didn't want them to clean her teeth for her...the machines scared her.

Ok well the pediatric dentist here said around 18 months- 2 years of age. So I will take him when he hits 2. They dont clean their teeth but they try to get them accustomed to things so they arent as scared.

Thanks all!

At the kids' last appt, our ped said the recommended age is between 3 and 4 years old. Jaxon is 3 1/2 and we'll probably take him sometime in the next 6 months or so.

I started with Madison when she was 2 because the dentist I saw takes children then. I didn't want to have to go to two different dentists because I'm lazy :P She's been twice now.
