well it's just a few more months until DF and I are DH and I... actually a little less than 3... I still don't have CONCRETE word on the chit yet from DF, but we're planning everything we can with that military clause in it that states they can't just out us our money because he got stuck or was deployed... the actual ceremony and reception site is being really nice about it and we even got a military discount. My wedding coordinator is an Army mom!! She told my friend and I to thank our husbands for what they do so I'm forwarding that on to all of you as well!!! The only concern I have about when he could come home is that we only really have the monday after we're married to get ALL of our paperwork in. He has to leave that night to go back to the ship... that's A LOT to have to do in one day... CAN IT BE DONE??? what can I do beforehand to speed up the process in regards to filling papers out and where I can get them and what he can do to speed the process along... it's just so much that has to be changed before he goes and I don't want to absentmindedly miss something because I didn't do my homework... suggestions anyone???

There is nothing that can really be done before he goes. He just has to do most of the paper work. We did it in one day but make sure that you have power of attorney before he goes and get added to any accounts that he wants you to be added to.

Yeah I keep reminding myself of the POA... I can take care of pretty much everything with that while he's gone... the accounts thing we're going to take care of ASAP once we're married... He'll be in port a few days after he gets back to Hawaii so if I need to fax things to him to get signed I can... they will work with me on stuff like that if I need to!! Some banks can actually be nice!! LOL!!

It's comforting to know we'll be able to take care of all that in a day... just horrifying to think that will be our last day together for 4-6 months... sigh... just not liking that one so much!

I know exactly how you feel we got married the 20th of dec and he left the
2nd of jan so we are spending the first few months of our marriage apart but i know that it will work out for you, ya i know the banks were actually nice it was amazing, it will be a day of running make sure to do deer first so you get your card.

and remember i know what you are going through and it sucks but trust me if you feel sad or alone just talk to someone it makes things better
