so i havent heard from my SO, who is stationed in Baghdad, in about two weeks. i am used to regularly hearing from him, on our yahoo messenger account at LEAST every 4 days. i am getting so worried. i am beside myself. i have to keep myself positive, but those worrysome thoughts pop in and out of my mind every so often.. those damaging what ifs..... everything feels so up in the air... have any of you guys not heard from your deployed hubbies for explainable extended amounts of time?.. i am searching for explanations, but it has never been this long.
i have a question, and i know its not one that anyone ever wants to consider, but if he gets hurt, does the military call family immediately?
uhh sigh... patience is defnitely a virtue... and i will continue, but i could really use some support from you guys.. or even encouraging words to get me through the next week.
thanks :dunno

DH is there also. Alot of the time they cant call b/c the phones go out, the lines are TOO long, or they were sent on a mission. DH got in an accident this week and he called me as soon as they were done checking him at the hospital. Family would be notified if something major happened. Just try to relax... stay positive and if you need anything feel free to PM me. :hugs

Keep good thoughts. Always remember that bad news travels fast. He's probably just not able to get online.

Try not to worry. Computers, etc. go down all of the time.
If your soldier was hurt you would be notified without a doubt. If the soldier is well enough to call they allow them to. If not you would be notified by someone else on his behalf. I am an FRG leader and I have been through casualty assistance training so I have learned a lot about this stuff.
Hang in there! I knwo last time DH was in Iraq I had weeks like that and it was tough. One day at a time. You will hear from him soon. :hugs

They say no news is good news... try to keep your chin up. Stay busy and do whatever you can to keep your mind off of it. I hope you hear from him soon! :hugs

Dh is in baghdad. The power goes out, the internet goes out for extended amounts of time, the lines are long and they really are quite busy right now. I know its hard , its so hard, but try to keep positive. I would say if something happened to him his family would have known long ago. I hope you hear from him soon! I bet hes just having communication problems.
